Dancing with the Stars 3 Odds and Picks
by Vegas Sports Informer - 09/13/2006

Move over football bettors, the reality TV gambling hit started yesterday. ABC's mega TV hit "Dancing with the Stars" airs on Tuesday nights. Oddsmakers over at Pinnacle Sportsbook have posted odds on who will win the competition. Here are the odds for the celebrity dancers and my quick overview of Dancing with the Stars season 3.

Mario Lopez: +290
Actor Mario Lopez is the opening favorite to win this competition. He was formerly a teen heartthrob on the TV show "Saved by the Bell." He is the oddsmaker favorite, but not mine. The only way Mario Lopez will win is if Kelly Kapowski (Tiffani-Amber Thiessen) was his partner and Screech is one of the judges.

Vivica A. Fox +383
Here is my favorite, actress Vivica A. Fox. Vivica played a female stripper in the movie Independence Day. So you know if she can work the pole and she has a good chance with the male voters. Vivica also dated rapper 50 Cent, so she will receive some street credibility.

Monique Coleman +457
Watch out for Monique Coleman! An actress-teen idol that appeared on the Disney Channel with the TV hit "High School Musical." Monique will be getting her groove on to win this competition.

Joey Lawrence +565
Here is another male former teen heartthrob. Joey Lawrence was on two hit shows, "Gimme a Break" and "Blossom." He also tried music, and I do mean tried. I believe he also made a couple music videos and, yes, he can dance for a white guy. Maybe next year Joey can get Mayim Bialik (aka Blossom) to do the show.

Harry Hamlin +661
A former male actor from the TV show "LA Law" dances in after his wife (Lisa Rinna) danced in last year's show. If Lisa Rinna didn't dance last year, we wouldn't see Harry Hamlin this year. Is this just a case of another male actor riding his wife's coattails to stardom?

Willa Ford +967
A hot blonde who sings and dances -- look out. Willa Ford is known as the "Bad Girl of Pop" and bad girls equal good ratings.

Sara Evens +996
Sara Evens might be in over her head, granted she is a star in country music scene, but last time I checked line dancing isn't going to be a dance on this show. However, I have been wrong before.

Emmitt Smith +1489
First Jerry Rice, and now Emmitt Smith -- who is next Lawrence Taylor? Emmitt Smith, the future Hall Famer is now a dancer. This might be the second worst move of his career. Yes, playing for the Arizona Cardinals will always be his worst. Emmitt might be the smallest person in the contest, including the women.

Shanna Moakler +2368
Shanna Moakler could be this year's Stacey Kiebler. She is a beauty queen and a hot model. That combo could spell trouble for the other dancers.

Tucker Carlson +2427
Can a MSNBC news anchor dance? My guess would be, NO. I've watched his highly controversial show and he is good at reporting the news -- but dancing? I would rather watch paint dry than watch Tucker Carlson try to dance.

Jerry Springer +3625
Jerry! Jerry! Jerry! What can you say about the last celebrity dancer? If anybody watches the "Jerry Springer Show", you can say that he might have some quick dancing moves since half of the show Jerry is ducking from flying chairs and half naked fat women.
