2008 NHL Predictions
by Max, Doc's NHL Hockey Expert - 09/25/2007

It seems like only yesterday the NHL Hockey season was concluding with the Anaheim Ducks hoisting the Stanley Cup for the first time in their existence. That team seemed to have the perfect mix of young and old, skill and powerful, and two solid net minders. With the new restrictions and salary cap limits, the off-season has somewhat resembled the NFL with numerous big name players switching teams and thus the power in both conferences has been altered. Following the list of some of the big names that moved elsewhere during the summer months will be Doc's 2008 NHL Predictions.

2008 Stanley Cup Odds
by Joe Paciella - 09/20/2007

Thirty teams start out the NHL season with a mathematical chance to win Lord Stanley's Cup. Realistically, there are only about half a dozen or so that have a chance. BetED has released their 2008 Stanley Cup odds on each team for the upcoming season. Here's how they stack up:

Betting the Under in NHL Playoffs
by Allen Eastman - 04/25/2007

Remember back in 2003 when goalie Jean-Sebastien Giguere of the Anaheim Might Ducks went crazy in the NHL playoffs? That's a perfect example of today's message: Find a hot goalie (or two) this time of year and pound the UNDER. If you don't remember the story of Giguere, here is a brief history lesson.

NHL Playoffs: Rangers-Sabres Preview
by Robert Ferringo - 04/25/2007

Sometimes a guy just needs to know when to keep his mouth shut. For New York Rangers coach Tom Renney and wing Sean Avery that time was right before heading into a hostile arena to take on the best team in hockey.

2007 NHL Playoff Preview
by T.O. Whenham - 04/10/2007

The NHL playoffs start this week. Unless you live on the same side of the Canadian border as I do, or if you're in Detroit or maybe Pittsburgh, you probably don't hear much about them, and chances are pretty good that you don't care. Though I won't even try to defend hockey, or to suggest that you absolutely should watch the playoffs, I will stand behind the statement that the playoffs are worth betting consideration.

Chalk is Profitable Down the NHL Stretch
by T.O. Whenham - 03/05/2007

Hockey. When it comes to that sport, there are two kinds of people in the world - those that love it and those that haven't given it a chance yet. As a Canadian, hockey runs through my veins like blood. Though I love many sports, like college football and horse racing, which barely register on the collective psyche of Canadians, there are few things more exciting than an NHL playoff game.

Catching Up with the NHL
by T.O. Whenham - 01/18/2007

I live in Canada, so I am surrounded by a skewed awareness of the NHL. It is a condition of citizenship here that you are able to discuss the power play woes of teams, the playoff prospects of the nearest squad, and the injuries that are keeping Canadian stars out of action, even if you are far from a hockey fan.
