ArenaBowl Dream Matchup
by Max Powers - 07/18/2008

The 2008 ArenaBowl will feature two of the best teams in the Arena Football League, San Jose and Philadelphia. On July 27 these squads will face off in Bayou Country in New Orleans. The SabreCats will be looking for their fourth championship in the last seven years. They will also be going for back-to-back championships after their dominating ArenaBowl victory in 2007. The ArenaBowl had been plagued by some questionable matchups in recent years when the chalk was not able to emerge from the playoffs, but that will not be the case this season.

The AFL Playoffs: Dogs Have Their Day
by Max Powers - 07/01/2008

The Wild Card Weekend of the Arena Football Playoffs was completed last week and the underdogs dominated, covering all four games and winning three of them straight-up. The AFL playoffs follow the NFL prototype with six teams in each conference making the playoffs and the top two seeds in each earning a bye. That being said, a major difference is that there are only 17 teams in the AFL compared to 32 teams in the NFL and thus some undeserving teams made it to the playoffs. This includes Arizona hosting a playoff game after a stellar 8-8 season and three, yes three 6-10 teams making it into the big dance as well.

2008 Arena Football Predictions
by Vegas Sports Informer - 02/29/2008

The start of the 2008 Arena Football season is this weekend and my wallet is itching to fire up some units. Arena Football is not like the NFL where they have preseason games to fall back on and help us with handicapping the season. Most teams in the Arena league have at least one session of training camp where they practice with another team, so we won't get a good feeling about this year's league until the regular season kicks off.

Arena Football Week 1 Odds
by Vegas Sports Informer - 02/28/2008

Most people think that football season if over. However, the Arena Football 2008 season starts Friday and this version of football actually has the potential to be much more profitable than the NFL. The lines are weaker because the oddsmakers don't spend that much time making the odds, so there are plenty of opportunities to profit.
