WagerWeb continues to position itself as one of the most respected and reliable full-service sportsbooks in the gaming industry. One innovative twist of the WagerWeb website is the clear separation of the sports that currently have active betting lines from the sports that remain inactive at this time. The following is a look at a few of this week’s active sports betting lines that WagerWeb has to offer.
Daily Lines
WagerWeb offers daily lines for NCAA basketball, the NBA, and the NHL. It also offers first-half lines on a wide selection of college and professional basketball games as well as three-way lines for the NHL.
In addition to side and total lines for every major college basketball on the schedule, WagerWeb has a separate tab for Extra Games. Here you will find betting lines of some games that are completely ‘off the radar’ with teams from a wide variety of Mid-Major conferences. A few of today’s extra games include North Dakota State -6.5 vs. UMKC, Oral Roberts -13.5 vs. IUPUI, and South Dakota State -11 vs. South Dakota.
As an added bonus for the NBA, you can find a number of prop bets for that day’s games. If you want to bet on which team scores first in tonight’s Los Angeles vs. Boston game, the current money line for the Lakers is -115 and -125 for the Celtics. You can as far as to bet on the last digit of each team’s final score.
The three-way line for the NHL gives you a chance to bet that any particular game ends in a draw at the end of regulation. The lines for tonight’s Calgary vs. Phoenix game has the money line on the underdog Flames at +170, the line on the favored Coyotes at -110, and the line the game goes to overtime at +295.
International Soccer
There are two big International matchups on the slate for Friday. The first is a German League contest between SC Freiburg, which is a +333 underdog on the money line, taking-on Wolfsburg, which is a -155 favorite. The money line on a draw is +250 and the total line for the game is 2.5 with the money line on the ‘over’ set at -150 and the line on the ‘under’ set at +110.
Turning to Holland, Hercules Almelo is a prohibitive +800 underdog against FC Twente, which is a -450 favorite. The money line on a draw is +350 and the total line is set at 3.5. The money line on the over in this game is set at -115 and the line of the under is -125.
PGA- AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am
This very popular PGA event gets underway today with the first of four rounds. The future odds on the outright winner are off the board, but WagerWeb had Tiger Woods as the odds-on-favorite at +300 in his first tournament this season on the PGA Tour. These lofty odds were obviously fueled by the betting public, but Woods does have a solid track record in past performances in both this event and Pebble Beach itself.
If you check in with the website early in the morning over the next three days, you should be able to place a bet on a number of head-to-head matchups for that day’s round. An example of the money line for a head-to-head matchup in Thursday’s round had Phil Mickelson at -155 vs. Kevin Na at +115.
Daytona 500
Two weeks from this Sunday, NASCAR kicks-off another Sprint Cup Series racing season with the running of 54th Daytona 500, which is often referred to as ‘The Great American Race’. This race is also unique in that NASCAR is the only professional sport that begins its season with its biggest and most popular event.
Odds for a typical NASCAR race are usually posted just days before the actual event, but given the immense popularity of the Daytona 500, WagerWeb has already posted odds for 24 different drivers that have a shot at winning the race. Kevin Harvick has been opened as the slight favorite at +900, with seven other drivers listed at +1000 including last season’s Sprint Cup champion Tony Stewart, five-time Sprint Cup champion Jimmie Johnson, and fan-favorite Dale Earnhardt Jr.
If none of the listed drivers strike your fancy, then you can bet the “field” at +2000. This type of bet is normally not recommended, but do not forget that last year a relative unknown driver named Trevor Bayne shocked the world with his improbable victory in this race.
