WagerWeb has become one of the top sportbooks in the gaming industry mainly because of its consistent and reliable service to its customers. However, it has also risen to the top because of the innovative design of its website. One major point of difference from its competition is the clear separation between the listing of sports with active betting lines from the ones that remain inactive at this time, which literally puts all the action at your fingertips.
The following is a look at a few of this week’s active betting lines that are currently available on WagerWeb’s website.
MLB Futures
The start of a new MLB season is a little over a month away, so now is the perfect time to make a wager on which team will win either the National League or American League Pennant as well as this season’s World Series.
WagerWeb has opened the Philadelphia Phillies as the favorite to win the NL at +175 with the San Francisco Giants the next closest contender at +650. The new-look Miami Marlins are the third-favorite at +700 followed by last season’s champion, the St. Louis Cardinals -- minus Albert Pujols -- and the Cincinnati Reds at +750.
The New York Yankees at +275 have a slight edge over Pujols’ new team, the Los Angeles Angels at +300, to win the AL with the Detroit Tigers third at +400. The American League race remains bunched-up with the Texas Rangers at +425 and the Boston Red Sox at +450.
When it comes to winning the World Series, the odds on the Phillies are +450 followed by the Yankees and Angels at +550. The Tigers and Rangers are next at +800 with the Red Sox the sixth-favorite at +900.
NHL Stanley Cup Futures
Along with a full set of regular and three-way lines for each day’s matchups, WagerWeb has posted its odds for the NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs.
The New York Rangers are the favorite to come out of the Eastern Conference at +200 followed by the defending champion Boston Bruins at +275. Things fall off from there with the Pittsburgh Penguins third at +450 and the Philadelphia Flyers fourth at +575.
Turning to the odds to win the Western Conference, the Detroit Red Wings and the Vancouver Canucks are in a dead-heat at +265 with the San Jose Sharks third at +450 and the St. Louis Blues fourth at +600.
The Rangers are slight favorites to hoist the Stanley Cup this season at +435 with the Bruins and Red Wings a close second at +500 and the Canucks the fourth-favorites at +550.
PGA - The WGC-Accenture Matchplay Championship
WagerWeb offers head-to-head matchup odds for just about every PGA tour event, but this week is even more exciting because the players are actual paired against one another in a matchplay format in professional golf’s version of March Madness.
First round action for the field of the top 64 golfers in the world gets underway this Wednesday and continues throughout the week with the final pairing set to play 36 holes this Sunday. Each day between now and then, check the website for the head-to-head odds for that day’s pairings.
NASCAR - Daytona 500
NASCAR is the only major sport that traditionally begins its season with its biggest event, and this year is no different with the running of the 54th Daytona 500 this Sunday afternoon at Daytona International Speedway.
The actual odds for the race itself will be released after Thursday’s Gatorade Duels, which set the final running order for Sunday’s race, but right now you can find futures odds for this season’s Sprint Cup Title. WagerWeb has opened five-time champion Jimmie Johnson as the favorite to reclaim the title at +375 followed by this year’s Daytona 500 pole-winner Carl Edwards at +475 and last season’s Sprint Cup Champion Tony Stewart at +575.
Prop Bets - The 2012 Academy Awards
If you did not get your fill of wagering on sports by the time Sunday night rolls around, you may want to try your luck on picking a few winners for this year’s Academy Awards.
WagerWeb offers a full line of prop bets for Sunday’s event with odds posted for just about every major category there is from Best Picture down to Best Live Action Short Film.
