Adam Scott Odds to Win the 2014 Masters with Picks and Predictions
by George Monroy - 3/13/2014
Adam Scott, the former Green Jacket winner, has his eyes firmly set on becoming the No.1 ranked golfer in the world. Scott had a chance to overtake the current No. 1, Tiger Woods, for the top spot in the rankings but failed to gain any traction during the Cadillac Championship at Doral in early March. Scott, however, will have another chance in April when one of the most prestigious tournaments on the tour, the Masters, begins in a few short weeks.
Scott will be hoping to become only the fourth player in PGA tour history, and first since Tiger Woods in 2001 and 2002, to win consecutive Masters titles, when he heads into the tournament as the defending champion. Let's take a closer look at Scott's 2014 Masters odds with picks, analysis and predictions. All odds come from Sportsbook.ag.

Adam Scott 2014 Masters Story Lines
With last year's Masters win, Scott became the first Australian to win the tournament in the event's 77-year history. The golfer has since moved into the No. 2 ranking in the world and made it very clear that he wants to overtake Woods for the No. 1 spot. Scott entered the Cadillac championship with a chance to finally dethrone Woods and needed to win the tournament and have the current No. 1 finish sixth place or worse.
Scott, who had taken six-weeks off prior to his return at Doral, was unable to earn what would have been his fifth tournament victory in a year's span as he shot a 5-over par for the event. Scott has a Masters win and a second-place Open Championship finish to his credits since 2012.
Adam Scott 2014 Masters Odds and Key Stats
Scott is currently receiving the fourth-best 2014 Masters odds at +1800, according to Sportsbook.ag. The 33-year-old has played four events in 2014 and already has two Top-10 finishes under his belt heading into the Masters. Scott is ranked 65th in the PGA's 2014 money list, earning of $488,550 after two months of play. The Australian has also averaged a 69.8-stroke round in the four events he played this year.
Scott shot a 293 total score at the Cadillac Championship in early March with individual rounds of 75-73-72-73 for a total of five-over par and a 25 th-place finish. The golfer's best finish during the early part of 2014 was a sixth-place showing in the Hyundai Tournament of Champions, where he shot 14-under par with rounds of 70-70-69-69.
Adam Scott 2014 Masters Picks and Predictions
Scott is showing solid value to win the Masters at +1800 odds even though history may be against him winning consecutive titles. One alarming issue for the Australian, however, is his performance while playing under pressure. Scott shot a 5-over par in the Cadillac Classic in early March, which was an event that he badly wanted to win in order to jump past Woods as the world's No. 1 golfer.
If that type of pressure was too much to handle, then Scott might have trouble dealing with the burden of trying to repeat as Masters Champion. There is value on Scott, but only the truly greats win back-to-back majors, and at this point the jury is still out on whether Scott qualifies for that exclusive club.
