Our NFL office pool picks this year have had their ups and their downs. We're going to head into the playoffs on a big upswing, though -- even though I hate pretty much everything about this last week of the season: NFL Office Pool Picks - Week 16 Last week wasn't quite as strong as recent weeks, but at 9-7 at least it was above .500. The way things were going for a while in the early games I didn't think that was going to be the case. This week we'll look to give a Christmas present to ourselves by putting together a huge week of NFL office pool picks. NFL Office Pool Picks - Week 14 Last week was reasonably successful, though in two cases we learned hard lessons about just how important quarterbacks are - I certainly didn't have Detroit beating Green Bay, and at the time of making those picks I didn't think to weigh the chances that Matt Cassel's appendix would give out on him before I picked the Chiefs in a mild upset that really didn't materialize. NFL Office Pool Picks - Week 14 It was another solid week last week - and I feel quite relieved that I never really bought into the Jets this year. Ouch. A beat down like that is inevitable when you play against a QB that played at Michigan. We're into the final quarter of the season, so it's time to finish up strong. Here's how I see this week breaking down for my NFL office pool picks: NFL Office Pool Picks - Week 13 I had the best week of the year - by far - last week, and then I matched it again this week. I guess all I needed to do was wait for the bye weeks to end - and any chance of winning any office pool to disintegrate - before I finally started to figure things out. Just going for weekly prizes, I guess. Here are this week's straight up NFL office pool picks: NFL Office Pool Picks - Week 12 Hallelujah! We finally had a good week - a week where things made sense in the NFL. In other words, after a couple of rough weeks we finally significantly outperformed throwing darts at a dart board as a method deciding who to pick in with our NFL office pool picks. NFL Office Pool Picks - Week 11 The only thing I am going to do with last week's NFL office pool picks is pretend that they never happened. That's the case for most of this year, really. Things will be better this week now that we don't have to deal with bye weeks. That's the theory, anyway: NFL Office Pool Picks - Week 10 It was a decent week last week in our efforts to pick straight up winners for NFL office pool picks. It could have been better, but then I don't feel bad at all about not picking the Browns to beat up on the Patriots. If you saw that one coming in the way that it happened, you live on a different planet than I do. Here's how this week's game set up. Remember that the Ravens and Falcons play the battle of the birds on Thursday night, so you need to get your picks in early this week: NFL Office Pool Picks - Week 9 Last week we won more games than we lost, but it wasn't pretty. Let's do better this week. There are six teams on a bye again this week - Denver, Tennessee, St. Louis, San Francisco, Washington, and Jacksonville. Remember, we are picking straight up winners here for these NFL office pool picks: NFL Office Pool Picks - Week 8 With this week we are almost halfway through the NFL season. This is the lightest schedule of the year to date because six teams - Atlanta, Baltimore, Chicago, Cleveland, the Giants, and Philadelphia - will be enjoying their bye week. Here's how i see the games for the 26 active teams turning out: NFL Office Pool Picks - Week 7 This past week in the NFL made more sense than some of the ones that came before it, but there were still some odd outcomes - with the Rams over the Chargers chief among them. That game proved at least three things - anything can happen in this league, passing offense and wins aren't always linked, and Norv Turner is dangerously incompetent. Last week was more successful for my NFL office pool picks as well. Hopefully this week is even better: NFL Office Pool Picks - Week 6 Last week was a very rough week for my NFL office pool picks. Thankfully it was also a rough week for the large majority of others as well because it was such a strange week. Tampa Bay over the Bengals on the road? The Cardinals over the Saints with an undrafted rookie QB? The Raiders over the Chargers? Strange week. Here's hoping that this week makes more sense. The Bills, Bengals, Cardinals, and Panthers are on their bye weeks. Here's how the week sets up: NFL Office Pool Picks - Week 5 This week the teams with the bye are Miami, New England, Seattle, and Pittsburgh. That means that we should enjoy this week for one big reason - it's a week of sweet relief before we have to listen to the endless Big Ben talk when he returns next week. Here's how I see the games this week breaking down with my NFL office pool picks: NFL Office Pool Picks - Week 4 It has been yet another strange start to the NFL season. Who really thought that when the Chiefs and Niners played in Week 3 it would be the Chiefs who were unbeaten and the Niners who were winless? Or that the Kevin Kolb era would last just minutes, and Michael Vick would play better than he ever has before? Or that Chicago would be the only undefeated team in the NFC after just three games? Or that Austin Collie and Brandon Lloyd would be the leading receivers in the league? Strange times. It wasn't a very good week here when it came to my NFL Office Pool Picks, but picking St. Louis to pull off the upset eased some of the pain. NFL Office Pool Picks - Week 3 It was another interesting week in the NFL last week - a lot of results made sense, but a few didn't. More significantly, a couple of teams that were supposed to be very good continue to confound. We had a solid week last week picking straight up winners for our NFL office pool picks - not great, but solid. Let's do better this week: NFL Office Pool Picks - Week 2 That was a very strange first week of the NFL. Every time you think you have the league figured out it throws you some curve balls. There was a lot of strangeness in the opening week, but that's all what makes the NFL so great. That being said, hopefully this week goes a bit more according to plan: NFL Office Pool Picks - Week 1 The NFL season is finally here - or at least it will be on Thursday. That means a lot of things, and all of them are good. One of the greatest parts of the great NFL is the annual tradition of the office pool. As we have the last couple of years, we're going to help you out with your NFL office pool picks by picking a winner for every game all season - straight up, not against the spread. Without further ado, we have NFL office pool picks for Week 1:
