Miami Dolphins Odds to Win the Super Bowl

Yes, 7-9 is not a great record. For a team with the issues that the Miami Dolphins had coming into last season, though, 7-9 is almost the equivalent of winning the Super Bowl. They dropped three of their first four games but then won their next three. That moved them above .500 for the only time all year. So, can they make a big step forward this year? The oddsmakers aren’t as pessimistic as you might think. Bovada has the team at 40/1 to win the Super Bowl. That makes them far from a sure thing, but those odds are better than 13 other teams in the league. The key to the success this year was the success of the forgotten rookie QB. Griffin, Luck and Wilson got the headlines, but Ryan Tannehill did his job as well. If he can strengthen his game, the team could be poised to take a step forward. Head coach Joe Philbin, who clearly has the respect of his players, is in his second year in the job and is a year removed from the death of his son and the distractions that brought to his first season, so he is definitely a coach to watch this year. After opening at Cleveland, though, things get tough - at Indianapolis and New Orleans and home against Atlanta and Baltimore before the bye week. That has the ability to set a really positive tone for the year or to derail things out of the gate.
