Ottawa Senators Odds to Win the Stanley Cup Championship

The Ottawa Senators have been in the NHL since 1992. This will be the first season since 1995 that they have not had Daniel Alfredsson as their productive and emotional leader. He left for Detroit as a free agent, and the break was less than clean. That is going to be a major adjustment for this squad. The oddsmakers at Bovada are not optimistic about how the team will fare without him — despite coming off a strong season, the team is just 33/1 to win the Stanley Cup as of August 15, which puts them in the bottom half of the league. Those odds could fall closer to the season, though, so look below for regular updates. Other than the loss of Alfredsson, the team had a solid offseason (other than that, Mrs. Lincoln, how was the play?). This will be a real test of their mental toughness — especially because Detroit moves to the Eastern Conference this year.
