"Mighty" Mike Aranoutis is a straight up boxing fool! He has a record of 14-0-2 with 6 KOs. He reminds me of Paul Spadafora, but with faster hands and better combinations. Arnaoutis is a boxer from Greece who held amateur titles in his native country. He has great ring generalship and is always active in his fights.
Because nobody has ever heard of him, most gave him zero chance against Juan Urango, whose record at the time was 13-0 with 10 KOs. Pretty much everyone in the boxing community was expecting Juan to make quick work of Mike Arnaoutis, because of his punching power. Nobody ever expected Mike to have a granite chin and superb boxing skill.
Not only did Mike take Urango's shots, he laughed at them, and smacked Juan up with some solid shots of his own. This led to a draw. I would say the majority of people viewing that fight thought Mike Arnaoutis should've won, but that's how it goes sometimes in boxing.
Watching Arnaoutis fight you'll see that when he gets hit, his face turns red. Kind of like your drunk uncle who has had one too many eggnogs on Christmas. Don't worry, he's just has fair skin. Mike always comes to fight, at least every time I've seen him fight. I've heard that he can be a tad bit lazy in the ring. Just recently he has come back from a six-month layoff due to a back problem. He stepped back into the ring and fought a journeyman named Marteze Logan. Although his performance wasn't all that mighty, Mike outclassed and out jabbed his opponent to get the win.
Staying active and winning is the most important task currently in his career. Staying undefeated also helps when trying to stand out in such a highly talented division. The junior weleterweight division holds some of the best and exciting fighters right now in boxing. Fighters like Mayweather, Hatton, Cotto, Tszyu and many others.
The junior welterweight division is also chocked full of hot prospects too, such as; Kendall Holt, Paul Malignaggi, Juan Urango and Demetrius Hopkins. I have to say, that I give him a 7 out of 10. Even though he's undefeated he doesn't have one-punch knockout power, and he doesn't wear out his opponents either. He beats them soundly, but to be the full package you got to have some kind of knockout ability to really draw a crowd.
Maybe with a little polishing he could sit down on his punches a little more and get those knockouts we all love to see. As for right now he's ranked No. 23 in the world. I saying it's time for him to start fighting guys ranked higher than him to see what he really has. I want to see if he's as good fighting higher caliber fighters, because right now he's out classing 90 percent of his opponents. Watch out for this Mad Greek, Mike Arnaoutis, he's got some skills and can shake and bake!
