Kentucky Derby Picks
from Doc's Sports

Kentucky Derby Picks

Doc has been handicapping all triple crown horse races since he started the company back in 1971. Doc has won 5 of the past 13 Kentucky Derbies races and one of those horses paid 30-1 (Charismatic in 1999)

The field is starting to take shape for the 2008 Kentucky Derby and unlike past years, there appears to be no prohibited favorite. Gone our legendary jockeys from the past and in our talented young riders with questionable big race experience. Trainers appear to be the major story again in 2008, as Todd Pletcher will have numerous entries in the field and right behind him will be 38 year old Doug O'Neill.

The Kentucky Derby is set to run on Saturday, May 3rd, 2008 from Louisville, KY.

However, with 20 horses in this year's field, one would expect big payouts, with whoever crosses the finish line first. Doc's feels the best way to cash a winning ticket is to offer you our selections for the top three horses: a win bet, a place bet, and a couple of exotic's that could break the bank. This same formula would have netted you $720 in the 2005 Belmont Stakes, as Doc cashed in big with his recommendations.

The Kentucky Derby is one of them most unique races to handicap. It is the first time those juvenile colts run 10 furlongs (1 1/4 miles) since being foaled. Pedigree, track conditions, and past Derby-winning patterns are just a few of the things Doc uses to select the winner.

Doc will be in Louisville for the entire Kentucky Derby week talking with numerous trainers, owners, jockeys, and track experts. Doc will not make his selection until late in the week when he is familiar with the Saturday evening forecast. Track condition plays a major role in our Kentucky Derby Picks and usually determines if early speed will hang on or falter.

Included with breakdown of Kentucky Derby picks will be a complete analysis of our championship horse. If you have any questions don't hesitate to call our office toll free at 1-866-238-6696
