Best MMA Fighters Pound-for-Pound

It's time for another look at the rankings of the top pound-for-pound fighters in the world of mixed martial arts. I have been doing this for quite a while, but the task has never been as difficult as it is now. Fedor Emelianenko had been at the top through several versions of the rankings, but he was passed last time around by Anderson Silva. Emeliananko had been mostly inactive while Silva had looked ferocious. That was all easy to figure out. And then Saturday happened. On that night both Silva and Emelianenko fought. Silva won impressively, but not nearly as impressively as Emelianenko did. Now the task of differentiating between the two fighters is mind-numbingly difficult. Just hang on a second - I need to go grab a coin to flip.

Every time UFC has an event I seem to see more betting information on it, and hear more people talking about how to bet on it. You can barely turn on your computer any more without seeing UFC stories or UFC odds. Basically, it's UFC's world now, and the rest of us just get to live in it.

UFC 80 Predictions and Betting Odds

It seems hard to believe, because we just got done with UFC 79, but UFC 80 is just around the corner. The painfully lame nickname for this event is Rapid Fire. This gathering doesn't have any particular high-profile appeal, and is definitely more for the hardcore fans than the general public, but there is still some intrigue to be found in the card. Odds for three fights, which will take place at Metro Radio Arena in Newcastle, England on Saturday, Jan. 19 starting at 3:00 p.m. EST, are posted at Bodog. Here's a preview:
