Doc has been handicapping all major horse races since he started the company back in 1971. Doc has won 7 of the past 14 Preakness Stakes races.
The 2009 Kentucky Derby featured a wide open field and the result was a 50-1 shot winning it. Mine that Bird was the winner and now will move onto the Preakness in an attempt to win the first two legs of the Triple Crown. In all likelihood, this horse is not good enough for the Triple Crown, but it will be interesting to see how many Derby holdovers enter the Preakness.
The Preakness offers different obstacles when handicapping the race. There will be no six figure superfecta payout. Instead this will be a race the size of only half of the Kentucky Derby Field. This makes life much easier as trouble is unlikely and horses can run up to their capabilities. Doc’s Sports nailed the trifecta in the race last season and Robert Ferringo had a big bet on the winner.
