Doc's Weekly Baseball Notes

Tampa Bay at Arizona (June 18,19,20)
The first round of interleague play concludes this weekend with a match-up of two bottom feeder teams. While the series may look even on paper and deeper look into the pitching probables shows will swing the tide. Both Arizona aces (Johnson & Webb) will pitch. Tampa Bay's ace (Zambrano) will sit out the series and will not pitch until next week. These facts combined with there being no designated hitter that will force either Martinez or McGriff to sit point to a Diamondback sweep of the series.

Oakland at Anaheim (June 21,22,23,24)
Anaheim has remained in contention all season despite a plethora of injuries. They are now starting to get healthy and just in time as the A's have surpassed them in the standing. This is a big series for the Angels as they can ill afford to allow Oakland to expand upon their division lead. The Angles will be playing all out to win each game and the A's are minus their best hitter (Chavez). Playing Anaheim each game should produce a profit over the four days of action.
