Free Baseball Betting Picks - By Doc's Sports

Baltimore at Toronto (August 13,14,15)
The Orioles are the hottest team in baseball right now and have gone 9-1 in their last ten games. They are scoring runs at will and have averaged an American League high 6.4 runs per game. They have a great line-up to score runs. They have speed and contact at the top with Melvin Mora and power in the middle with Javy Lopez, Miguel Tejada, and Rafael Palmeiro. Coming down the stretch they will certainly be a team postseason hopefuls would like to avoid. Pitching is the only thing keeping them from being a serious contender for the division crown.

Toronto is one of the most disappointing team in baseball this season. They have fired their manager and their starting pitchers cannot get through five innings without being removed. Over the last ten games, their starting pitchers have an E.R.A. of 7.85. This spells disaster against a team as hot as Baltimore who has been pounding everything in sight of late. Counter this with no true closer makes the Blue Jays a recipe for disaster.

Will play the Orioles in all three games and expect to see some favorable lines because of the series being in Toronto. Toronto is scoring only 2.3 runs per game lately and will be lucky to win a game in the series mismatch.

Chicago at Milwaukee (August 17,18,19)
The Cubs are eyeing a postseason birth via the wildcard and cannot afford a slipup against a bottom feeder team. After a successful first half of the season the Brewers have come back down to earth and have fallen well below the .500 mark.

The Cubs have a powerful line-up to go along with hard throwing pitchers. Their pitching staff is finally healthy with the return of Mark Prior and Kerry Wood and they now posses six big league starting pitchers. The Cubs also can hit the ball with the best of teams. Fifty percent of their runs scored come via the long ball and one through eight in the line-up have a realistic chance to go yard at any time. The Brewers lived on pitching all through the first half on the season and won a lot of low scoring games. The pitching has still been solid but lately they have had trouble scoring any runs at all. This is starting to take its toll on the pitching staff and they know that any mistake that they make will probably cost them the ballgame. This is a tough way to pitch and usually leads to disaster.

Will play the Cubs in win all three games in this series and can expect some favorable prices especially in game 2 when Ben Sheets is scheduled to start. The Cubs cannot afford to lose a series against the Brewers if they hope to make postseason play and they will be ready to play once this series opens up. Cubs Win, Cubs Win!
