Afleet Alex proved that he was with out doubt the best 3-year old colt in
the country as he won the Belmont by 7 lengths with jockey Jeremy Rose aboard.
The mile and one half distance set up perfectly for Afleet Alex, who came
on strong off the far turn. The final time was a moderate 2:28 4/5 on a fast
track.
Afleet Alex won the Preakness Stakes but had trouble in the Kentucky Derby
because of the large field and some early contact. There is no question that
if the Derby was ran again this horse would have a great chance of winning.

took 2 nd.

closed the gap by the quarter poll to finish 3 rd.
Indy Storm raced in the middle of the pack for most of
the race and closed the gap down the stretch.
A.P Arrow moved up fast in the early stages but tired down
the stretch.
Chekhov started out just behind the leaders but dropped
back leaving the far turn
Giacomo had trouble breathing at the gate. He was unhurried
for half and advanced toward the end but tired down the stretch.
