Bookmaker’s Corner: NBA Playoffs & NBA Futures
by Richard Gardner | Bodog Sportsbook Manager - 3/9/2010
Allen Iverson isn’t the only one going through tough times; the Los Angeles Lakers have now lost three in a row for the first time since January of 2008 and a fourth could prove to be unfathomable for bettors. The Lakers draw the most basketball betting action at Bodog and although a few losses will not force many fans to bail on Kobe Bryant, it may open a few eyes to some of the other NBA teams making a run for the playoffs.

Bookmaker’s Corner: Betting on NHL Hockey’s Return
by Richard Gardner | Bodog Sportsbook Manager - 2/23/2010
NHL Hockey betting has taken a back seat to Olympic hockey betting, but when play does resume you can be sure to see a surge in betting interest as the push for the playoffs begins in earnest. This is one of the most popular times for hockey betting at Bodog’s online Sportsbook and bettors will need to make some important judgments on which teams will show up down the stretch and which ones will either fall back or remain back in the standings.

Atlanta might not be a particularly fun NBA team to watch, but they’re fun to bet on – especially when they’re making you some decent money. The Hawks have only had one cool stretch this season, around the Christmas holidays; otherwise, they’ve made their backers a ton of cash.

Super Bowl Recap from a Bookie
by Richard Gardner | Bodog Sportsbook Manager - 2/9/2010
History was made on Super Bowl Sunday and I know I can’t speak for every football fan or online sportsbook when I say this, but it sure was fun to watch. From start to finish, you knew that this was going to be one of those unforgettable games. I’m not at all surprised that 106.5 million viewers tuned in watch the New Orleans Saints defeat the Indianapolis Colts (by a score of 31-17) to take their first Super Bowl title and break the 1983 record held by the season finale of “M*A*S*H” and become the most-watched television program in the history of American broadcasting.

Bookmaker’s Corner: Waiting for Media Day
by Richard Gardner | Bodog Sportsbook Manager - 2/2/2010
Media day is one of those time-honored Super Bowl traditions that the coaches and players dread, but one that football bettors, reporters, broadcasters, photographers, and TV crews look forward to most. If you can get past the circus-like feel to media day, the interviews are a great way to find out how the teams look and possibly gain some insight into Sunday's big game.

Bookmaker’s Corner: Recent Super Bowl Classics
by Richard Gardner | Bodog Sportsbook Manager - 1/26/2010
The Indianapolis Colts opened as 6-point favorites over the New Orleans Saints, with a total of 56.5. The early action was on Indianapolis, although it wasn’t a landslide by any means. The Colts are certainly deserved favorites, what with the fact they’ve won every game they’ve tried to win this season. But the inspirational Saints are no slouches, and they’ll undoubtedly receive the lion’s share of the support from the fans in Miami.

Bookmaker’s Corner: NFL Football Betting Lines: Are Wild Cards Indeed
by Richard Gardner | Bodog Sportsbook Manager - 1/13/2010
The NFL’s wild card weekend was a good one for Bodog Sportsbook’s NFL football betting lines. Unfortunately for most of our players it wasn’t very good at all. Bodog Sportsbook had big wins on both the New York Jets’ victory over the Bengals and the Baltimore Ravens’ upset of the New England Patriots. And the players had a big win with the Cowboys as Dallas beat the Philadelphia Eagles quite handily.

Bookmaker’s Corner: College Football Betting Season in Review
by Richard Gardner | Bodog Sportsbook Manager - 1/13/2010
The 2009-10 college football betting season started off great, but then ended on a not-so-great note for us over at Bodog Sportsbook. We saw a late flood of money come in on Alabama, which moved the number from -4 to -5, and we paid the price. Crimson Tide fans, on the other hand, had to be pleased with the way Alabama finished off the season; beating Texas 37-21 in the BCS National Championship Game is about as good as it gets.

The 2009-10 college football bowl matchups have been set and the betting can begin. Obviously, we expect to see the largest handle at Bodog on the BCS National Championship Game between Alabama and Texas. Bookmaker’s Corner: Are You Still Betting on Ranked Teams?
by Richard Gardner | Bodog Sportsbook Manager - 10/20/2009

Bookmaker's Corner: Betting Quarterback Controversies
