Time for another set of office pool picks for Week 6 of the 2008 NFL season. It's time for a spectacular week of success, don't you think?

Chicago at Atlanta - I'm man enough to admit that Atlanta is much better than I thought that they would be. I can't help noticing, though, that their two losses, by identical 24-9 scores no less, have come against teams with a tradition of playing stout defense. Matt Ryan isn't ready for that challenge at this point in his career, and Chicago has been playing as well defensively as Tampa Bay and Carolina were when they played Atlanta. Take the Bears.

Oakland at New Orleans - I have no idea how New Orleans lost on Monday night. The turnovers didn't help, but they were the better team in virtually every aspect except for the score. They'll be angry this week, they are at home, and they'll take it all out on Oakland. Take the Saints.

Carolina at Tampa Bay - These are two teams I really respect this year, and there isn't a lot to separate them. In the end, I lean towards the Panthers for two reasons - they are a bit hotter, and their quarterback situation is more settled. Take Carolina.

St. Louis at Washington - St. Louis is coming off a bye with a new coach, but no one could work the miracles needed to win with this team on the road in just one week. Washington is as good as any team in the league right now, and they will make it a very long day for the Rams. Take the Redskins.

Cincinnati at N.Y. Jets - I don't think Eric Mangini is a great coach. He looks like Vince Lombardi and Don Shula's love child next to Marvin Lewis, though. The Bengals are a total mess, and Lewis has lost all control. Brett Favre could have a field day against the lame Bengals excuse for a defense. The Jets could string together a four-game winning streak fairly easily given their schedule, and this is Game 2. Take the Jets.

Detroit at Minnesota - The Vikings have a world of problems, and no team has ever been luckier to win than they were on Monday. That being said, they can beat the Lions with their eyes closed. Detroit has shown nothing this year, and this isn't the game in which I expect the turnaround. Take the Vikings.

Miami at Houston - This is the toughest game on the board. The teams are reasonably evenly matched. It's hard to know how the Texans will come off their last game collapse. They could pout and play terrible, or they could be angry and seek redemption. I could see it going either way. In the end, though, I have to take Houston for no other reason than they are at home. Take the Texans.

Baltimore at Indianapolis - Peyton Manning is a mess this year, and the Ravens' defense will be able to make that continue. Still, when it comes down to Flacco vs. Manning at the end of the game with it all on the line, I know who I want to trust. Take the Colts.

Jacksonville at Denver - Another tough one. The Broncos will be able to score against Jacksonville - they can score on anyone. It doesn't take much to score on Denver these days, but Jacksonville isn't exactly firing on all cylinders. In the end, I think the home team will win an ugly one. Take the Broncos.

Dallas at Arizona - The Cowboys aren't right. It must be chemistry issues or something. Whatever it is, they aren't as good as they should be. Still, I expect them to be able to win this shootout. Their defense is better, and they should be able to go blow-for-blow offensively. Take the Cowboys.

Philadelphia at San Francisco - I am not losing faith in my Niners - I'm just taking a vacation from them for a while. Philly has struggled a bit, and they know they need some wins to stay in contention in their division. They should be ready to play here. Take the Eagles.

Green Bay at Seattle - This is the worst game on the card. Two struggling teams with injury questions. Yuck. For me it's a case of deciding which team I currently hate less. I think Seattle is in trouble, and it goes beyond their travel issues. I am concerned about Aaron Rodgers, and I hate to trust him, but I will here because that is better than the alternative. Take the Packers.

New England at San Diego - This should have been the game of the year, but circumstances have conspired to make it a bit ugly, frankly. Every time I have seen San Diego this year I have been left thinking that they have real problems. No one is better at exploiting weakness than Bill Belichick, regardless of who he has taking snaps. Take the Patriots.

N.Y. Giants at Cleveland - Based on what we have seen this year, it's hard to believe that this game actually looked like it would be good at one point. New York is playing with huge confidence boosted by the fact they have only really played weaklings. Cleveland is certainly a weakling. Take the Giants.
