Week 16 was one that I would rather forget on the prognostication front. Let's wash that taste out of our mouths with a big weekend to cap things off for the season. I never have really high hopes for this last weekend because you can never be sure which teams have decided to mentally end their seasons a week early, and which playoff teams will put out an insincere effort.

We have to get an early start on picking our office pools this week because of the smorgasbord of football pleasure that is Thanksgiving. I am hopeful that the novelty of three consecutive games on a weekday will make up for the fact that at least two of them seem sure to bore. Luckily, you Americans will be in a near-coma state thanks to the turkey, so you won't even notice if they are lousy.

We had an okay week last week, though there were a couple we missed. I'm okay with being wrong on at least two of them, though - there was no way to know that Denver would lose to Kansas City, and I'd pick Dallas over Washington again if I had the choice. That's more like it. After a couple solid but unspectacular weeks to open the season picking straight up games we hit our stride last week by correctly calling 13 games. That's more than enough to be competitive. Let's see if we can maintain the momentum as we move into the first of many weeks in a row where teams are on byes. Picking 13 right this week would be more than acceptable. It would be perfect.

The NFL season is here. For pretty much everyone who works that means that it is time to play in your NFL office pool. Many of you will have your own opinions about how to win and who to pick. If you don't, though, then I'm here to help. Each week of the season I will be providing my picks for each NFL game. A majority of pools seem to be straight up instead of against the spread, so that's how I'll pick them all. If you use my picks and win then you can decide whether you send my share in cash or by check.
