2023 LIV Picks: Singapore Odds and Expert Betting Predictions
LIV golf heads up to Singapore this weekend for 54 holes of action at the Sentosa Golf Club for LIV Golf Singapore. Players will tee off Friday, April 28, through Sunday, April 30, and battle for a $4 million first-place prize out of a total of $20 million purse. There is also a separate $5 million purse for team rewards. Legends like Dustin Johnson and Brooks Koepka headline the favorites at +1100, with Cam Smith breathing down their backs at +1200. Do not count out the longshots this week as this is the first time LIV has played this course. That is going to mean that there will not be much knowledge or experience to lean on or pass around, which should make for an exciting weekend.

Course Characteristics of Those Who Can Win or Secure Winning Golf Bets
When it comes to golf courses in Asia, Sentosa is one of the most beautiful courses and landscapes. The prestigious Sentosa Golf Club sits on the island of the same name at the southern tip of Singapore. The venue opened in 2005 and offers testing challenges combined with beautiful views. The course measures a little over 7,400 yards and includes three par 5’s that are just shy of 600 yards each. It is a par 71 course and putting will be a challenge with the number of slopes.
Dustin Johnson is due. Despite back-to-back top 10 finishes, he has not truly contended in an event so far this year. It was reported he took more time off than usual this past offseason and had to WD from the first event this year due to back discomfort. Since he has had less reps, it is encouraging to see him improve week by week. His power off the tee should set him up to contend in Singapore.
I am hopping on the Cam Smith train this weekend. When he left the PGA Tour, he was ranked second in the world and was coming off a three-win season. He has one LIV event title so far and has three top-10 finishes in his first nine career LIV events. Coming off a T3 in last week’s Australia LIV Tour event, momentum could be back on his side.
The longshot I like this week is Carlos Ortiz sitting at +3000 odds. He was the only player on the LIV Tour that had Top Ten finishes in each of the first three events this season. He is coming off a T36 last week, which makes this a good bounce back opportunity. His only PGA Tour victory came in 2021 at the Houston Open before making the jump to LIV. His golf game has been in great form in recent years, and he should win sooner than later on the LIV Tour.
Another longshot I am backing this week is Phil Mickelson. Lefty spoke about how great he felt before the Masters and backed that up with a great performance at Augusta. He is coming off a T16 last week in Australia, but there were a ton of positives to take away. He led the field in birdies last week while finishing almost last in fairways hit. That is a crazy feat to lead the field in birdies while being so inaccurate with the driver. If he can find the fairway this weekend, the birdies should continue.
