NHL Betting: Hot and Cold Teams ATS and Moneyline 11/26/2025

As we move past the quarter mark of the season, and march on towards the upcoming Olympics, let’s take a look at who the real money makers have been ATS and straight up. No one seems to be stopping the Colorado Avalanche this year, while the Minnesota Wild have joined the conversation in the pursuit of the Central Division title. Seattle has continued to exceed expectations, while the Edmonton Oilers continue to have goalie struggles. With so much to track around the league, let’s take a look at our cover darlings and the hottest teams from around the league.
Doc’s Sports offers NHL expert picks for every game on our hockey predictions page.
ATS
Hot
Minnesota Wild 8-2
The Minnesota Wild are the hottest team in the league covering the spread over the last 10 games. They have covered eight of their last 10 contests and have won nine of their last 11 games, picking up points in 10 of those. A lot of this is due to their elite goaltending. The Wild allowed just five goals during their five-game winning streak, three of those wins have been shutouts. They have had four shutouts over their last 10 games and have racked up a +16-goal differential over this span. The offense has been clicking to for the Wild as they have scored 17 goals over the course of their current win streak. Kirill Kaprizov and Matt Boldy continue to be goal scoring machines, with 13 each, while Marcus Johansson, Joel Eriksson Ek, and Brock Faber continue to be an incredible support around the dynamic duo. The Wild could use another offensive weapon, but they are rolling right now with the best goalie duo in the league and Kirill The Thrill.
San Jose Sharks 8-2
San Jose is still in the playoff mix through the first 23 games of the season. They have done an excellent job of keeping themselves in the game and that shows with their eight covers in the last 10 contests. The Sharks are one of the best at covering the spread, as their 17-6 record ATS is the third best in the league. A lot of this is due to the improved goaltending performance. While far from great, San Jose has had atrocious production in the crease over the last few seasons, but they are now allowing just 3.09 GA/G and Yaroslav Askarov is looking more and more like a playoff caliber goaltender. Askarov has allowed 2.83 GA/G and has a .913 SV%. Macklin Celebrini is continuing to do his thing (34 points), but the Sharks will need to add more offense around their young star in order to maintain this solid performance ATS.
Cold
Carolina Hurricanes 2-8
The Carolina Hurricanes have been a very profitable team to fade lately. They have covered just twice in their last 10 games, and once in their last seven. They are 6-2-2 straight up, but they have failed to pull away and get the cover. Three of their last six games have needed extra time, with two of those being losses. The offense is elite this year for the Hurricanes and is a big reason why Carolina looks like the team to beat in the Eastern Conference. They already have nine players who have double digit points this season, and 10 players who have tallied at least four goals through the first 22 games. However, the goaltending has seen a noticeable decline in performance so far this season. Frederik Andersen has allowed 3.07 GA/G and has a 5-5-2 record in his 12 appearances this season. The Hurricanes rank 14th in GA/G (2.91) which is a big reason why their games have been so close. Until we see an improvement from Andersen, take the Carolina opponent to cover and throw some extra change on the over.
New Jersey Devils 2-8
The New Jersey Devils have also struggled ATS over the last 10 games as they have covered just two games. Five of their last 10 games have gone to OT and their goal differential is -7 during this stretch. The goaltending has really struggled over their last week of games as Jacob Markstrom and Jake Allen have allowed 15 goals in their last four games. The offense is also struggling to put points on the board. The Devils are averaging just 3.05 GF/G, and they are missing Jack Hughes for an extended amount of time. Overall, this team is going to play in a lot of close games thanks to being average on both offense and in the crease. Keep tracking this trend, it may break the bank.
Money Line
Hot
Colorado Avalanche 9-0-1
The Colorado Avalanche are by far and away the best team in the league this season. They are winners of nine straight and are currently riding a 13-game point streak. Their 37 points on the year are five more than the second place Dallas Stars, while their +38-goal differential leads the league by a significant margin. Nathan MacKinnon is averaging just shy of two points per game, as he has 37 points through the first 22 games of the season. Cale Makar has cemented himself as the best offensive blueline in the NHL as he is at 29 points already, including nine goals. And if that wasn’t enough, they also have Martin Necas who has settled in nicely, as he has 13 goals and 28 points so far this season. It also helps that Scott Wedgewood is allowing just 2.09 GA/G and Mackenze Blackwood is allowing 2.47 GA/G. Colorado is elite.
Minnesota Wild 8-1-1
The Minnesota Wild are hot and gaining ground on the Avalanche and Stars in the Central Division. The offense needs to get going, but the goaltending is elite. Watch out for the Wild come playoff time. If Kaprizov can stay healthy, no team is safe.
Cold
Nashville Predators 2-6-2
San Jose has left the league basement after a lengthy stay, and they have handed the keys to the Nashville Predators. Nashville has won just two games over their last 10 contests and has a lowly 16 points on the season. They are just one of two teams to have a negative goal differential exceeding 20 (-29), and they are one of just two teams that have yet to reach the 60-goal mark on the season. Their 2.32 GF/G average is the worst in the NHL, and their 3.68 GA/G ranks 29th. Barry Trotz has expressed his growing frustrations with his veteran-laden roster, and everyone appears to be available between now and the deadline.
Vancouver Canucks 3-5-2
The Canucks are not doing much better. With just 20 points so far, they are the third worst team in the NHL. The offense is underperforming, and the goaltending has been atrocious. Elias Pettersson has done well, along with Quinn Hughes, and Keifer Sherwood, but the depth is concerning. Jake DeBrusk hasn’t panned out, and there is little to lack as you go down the roster. It doesn’t help that their goalies are allowing a league worst 3.74 GA/G. Vancouver is going to be active sellers at the deadline.
