2025 PGA Picks: Truist Championship Odds and Expert Betting Predictions

I hope you got a piece of that Scottie Scheffler ravioli last week. The world #1 went wire-to-wire for the win at the CJ Cup Byron Nelson last week in his hometown of Dallas, Texas. It only paid at (+275), but a win is a win, and I'm sure Scheffler is even happier to get his first W of 2025.
Last week, the "Scheff" as we should now call him for his prowess in the kitchen, was, of course, the betting favorite at under 3-1 odds. Jordan Spieth was the next golfer down the betting board at 16-1!
I will say it loud so even the overcrowded clubhouse bathroom dwellers can hear me. The sportsbooks don't want you to bet on Scheffler. He isn't in the field this week. However, the red-hot Rory McIlroy sits atop the board at less than 5-1. We then make the jump to 14-1 for California's Collin Morikawa.
Could we see a repeat of last week, only with the #2 ranked golfer in the world? It’s not that simple. Scheffler wasn’t up against this level of competition.
If the Truist Championship doesn't sound familiar to you, this is the time of year we usually have the Wells Fargo down at Quail Hollow in the Queen City of Charlotte, North Carolina.
Truist bought Wells Fargo and took the title, but we won't be down south this week. We are playing at a new venue, the Wissahickon Course at the Philadelphia Cricket Club.
Next week, however, the Tour heads back south to Quail Hollow for the second major of the year, the 2025 PGA Championship.
The Tour is heating up. Let’s discuss the Wissahocken Course, check the rest of the betting board, and make some to win the Truist Championship.

Wissahickon Course at the Philadelphia Cricket Club - Course Characteristics
Wissahocken is an old golf course that has been famous for a long time, with the crown jewel of the Philadelphia Cricket Club enjoying its heyday in the early 20th century. It's a short course with minimal yet treacherous water hazards.
There are over 100 sand traps throughout, with solid scrambling imperative for golfers. We have moderately wide fairways with a tall Bentgrass rough.
Tee-to-green is the stat to look at here, and you shouldn't be surprised to see McIlroy's name at the top of the column for 2025.
Truist Championship Betting Picks
Justin Thomas: +1600
With Xander Schauffele banged up, Justin Thomas is the best golfer in this odds range. He is arguably better than Schauffele anyway, but I digress. Thomas has seen a resurgence in his career over the past 8 months.
He has seven top 10s, including five top 3s, just through 13 events. Thomas is underrated, somehow forgotten, and undervalued, even after winning the RBC Heritage weeks ago.
Jordan Spieth: +2500
Jordan Spieth is streaky, and all signs point towards the Texan about to go on a roll. He was that fated next man down the betting board we spoke of behind Scheffler last week at 16-1. After a slow start, Spieth shot a final round 62 to finish fourth at the CJ.
It was his fourth consecutive top 20. It's no secret this guy has all the tools to be one of the best. He needs a spark to believe in himself a little more, and off we go.
Maverick McNealy: +4000
I like the fresh-faced Maverick McNealy here because this is a new course for most everyone. So, why not take a chance on a rookie to play harder than some of the vets, who, we can imagine, will be looking ahead to next week's major?
The 29-year-old Stanford grad got the first win of his career in 2024 and has been knocking at the door a few times, particularly recently. McNealy has two 3rd place finishes in his previous three starts on the PGA Tour.
