2025-26 Philadelphia Flyers Predictions and Odds to Win Stanley Cup Finals

The Philadelphia Flyers have been progressing through their rebuild and as a result they were not competitive last season. They finished last in the Eastern Conference with 76 points. Their -48-goal differential was the third worst mark in the conference, and their 13 road wins were tied for the worst mark in the NHL.
As a team, the Flyers averaged 2.83 GF/G which ranked 24th in the league. Their 14.5% PP% ranked 30th in the NHL while their 77.6% PK% ranked 20th. Travis Konecny led the team with 76 points and 52 assists. His 24 goals trailed the team leader Matvei Michkov (26) as well as Tyson Foerster (25). Michkov finished second on the team with 63 points. After Michkov there was a big drop in production. Owen Tippett was the only other Flyers player that reached the 20-goal mark on the year while Sean Couturier, Tippett, Bobby Brink, and Foerster reached the 40-point mark on the year.
With the absence of Carter Hart, the goaltending struggled as well. They ranked 28th in the league as they allowed 3.45 GA/G and they had a league worst .879 SV%. The Flyers tried their luck with three different goaltenders last season. Samuel Errson appeared in 47 games, and he allowed 3.14 GA/G and had a .883 SV%. Ivan Fedotov was the backup and appeared in 26 games where he allowed 3.15 GA/G while Aleksei Kolosov appeared in 17 games and allowed 3.59 GA/G while posting a .867.

Seasons come and go, so now it’s time to take a look at what we can expect from the Philadelphia Flyers in 2025-26:
Philadelphia Flyers Key Additions/Losses
The Flyers were busy at last year’s deadline, but the losses mounted up after the season ended. They traded Ryan Poehling (31 points) to Anaheim while also dealing Fedotov to the Columbus Blue Jackets. They also saw depth pieces Olle Lycksell and goaltender Cal Petersen sign elsewhere.
In the Anaheim deal, the Flyers brought in Trevor Zegras who never quite panned out for the Ducks. Zegras had 32 points in 57 games for Anaheim last year. Philadelphia signed Dan Vladar (2.80 GA/G) to replace Fedotov while also signing Christian Dvorak who had 33 points with Montreal last season.
Philadelphia Flyers X-Factors
Trevor Zegras- The Zegras deal has flown under the radar as one of the biggest moves of the offseason. Though he has not played at the high level he was projected to, his presence will open up the ice for the other young Flyers skaters who are looking to take the next step in terms of production. Zegras will likely join Michkov on the second line, which is an exciting duo with an incredibly high ceiling. Perhaps a change of scenery is what Zegras needed to break out into the star everyone thought he would be.
The Rebuild- Even with the Zegras deal, the Flyers will likely miss out on the playoffs again this season. The front office needs to keep adding on future capital in order to round out the core they have in place. Michkov, Tippett, Brink, Foerster, as well as Jamie Drysdale and Cam York are a great start, but they are wasting Konecny’s prime. Philadelphia needs to find a way to accelerate the remaining phases of the rebuild and put themselves back on the map.
Philadelphia Flyers Goalie Outlook
The addition of Vladar means the goalie room is not as bad as it was last season. However, it is still not good. Ersson is still just 25 and he has the potential to keep developing into a serviceable goaltender in this league and having a reliable backup in Vladar may help his development. Ersson’s improvement is crucial for just how quickly Philadelphia can return to the playoffs, but for this season it looks rather grim for Philadelphia.

Philadelphia Flyers Key Schedule Stretch
Next Offseason- Next year’s free agent class includes Connor McDavid, Kirill Kaprizov, Artemi Panarin, Jack Eichel, Cale Makar, and Patrik Laine just to name a few. These are big names that can totally change the trajectory of a franchise. Philadelphia needs to clear its books and go all in on this upcoming free agent class. Adding a big name or two around the young core they are developing could be exactly what this franchise needs in order to return to relevancy.

Philadelphia Flyers Prediction
There is not a lot to like about Philadelphia this season. The point total is interesting, but it is likely that they will be sellers at the deadline which means the final quarter of the season may be atrocious. With a sellers mindset and a lack of offensive weapons as well as one of the worst goaltender situations in the NHL, I am taking the under on the point total here and staying away from all things Philadelphia this season.
