2025-26 San Jose Sharks Predictions and Odds to Win Stanley Cup Finals

Once again, the San Jose Sharks found themselves in the basement of the NHL. They managed to reach the 52-point mark on the season, which was nine points behind the 31st ranked Chicago Blackhawks. Their -105-goal differential was 35 goals worse than the Blackhawks’ second worst mark of -70. They won a league worst eight road games and the Sharks managed to win just 14 games in regulation.
The Sharks ranked last in the league in scoring as they averaged just 2.54 GF/G. Their special teams did not play much better as they ranked 26th in the NHL with an 18.6% PP% and their 74.2% PK% ranked 28th. Macklin Celebrini led the team with 63 points despite playing only 70 games. William Eklund was second on the team with 58 points, while he led the way with 41 assists. Tyler Toffoli was third on the team with 54 points and he led the team with 30 goals. Jake Walman led the Sharks blueliners with 32 points despite playing in just 50 games with San Jose. Mikael Granlund ranked fourth on the team with 45 points despite only playing 52 games with San Jose before he was dealt at the deadline.

Seasons come and go, so now it’s time to take a look at what we can expect from the San Jose Sharks in 2025-26:
San Jose Sharks Key Additions/Losses
The only loss of note for the San Jose Sharks was netminder Georgiev, who signed with the Buffalo Sabres this offseason.
As for the additions, they received Ryan Reaves in a deal with Toronto while also bringing in Shane Bowers and Alex Nedeljkovic in separate deals. The Sharks also signed John Klingberg, Philipp Kurashev (14 points), Adam Gaudette (26 points), Dmitry Orlov (28 points), and Jeff Skinner (29 points).
San Jose Sharks X-Factors
The Offseason- This may be the final dreadful season for Sharks fans. They have endured some really awful teams that have ended up in the basement of the league, but there is certainly a light at the end of the tunnel, especially if they can attract one of the big-name free agents next offseason. They will have plenty of veteran pieces to move at the deadline to free up space and accrue future capital, setting themselves up nicely for the offseason. They have a strong developing core in place, a goaltender who should develop into a solid netminder, and all they need now is a big name star to take them back the playoffs.
San Jose Sharks Goalie Outlook
Askarov should be the everyday guy this season for the Sharks and that should make this group a lot better. The Sharks had a lot of moving pieces in the crease last season so having Askarov assume the majority of the workload will not only help his development, but it may result in more points for San Jose. Nedeljkovic will take a step back and serve as the backup to Askarov which may also benefit him and take more pressure off his shoulders in order for his mind to get right and return to form. We should not see five different goaltenders for San Jose this season, which is a positive, but Askarov has a lot to prove in his first full season as the starting goaltender.
Grade: C
San Jose Sharks Key Schedule Stretch
The Trade Deadline- Last season the Sharks dealt most of their veterans including Granlund, Ceci, Vanecek, Nico Sturm, Jake Walman, Luke Kunin, as well as Fabian Zetterlund and had a great overall return because of those moves. This season guys like Orlov, Klingberg (if he can stay healthy), Reaves, Kurashev, Skinner, Gaudette, and Toffoli could all be flipped in a similar manner in order to acquire more picks and free up even more cap space. It is an exciting time for Sharks fan as the light at the end of the tunnel is getting closer.

San Jose Sharks Prediction
The rebuild is drawing to an end, but there is still work to be done. There will be some exciting Sharks players who will burst on the scene this season and maybe a name or two that could draw some attention in the Calder Trophy race. However, there are not a lot of positives when it comes to the Sharks futures this season. They will fail to reach the 70-point mark once again this season and they will be major sellers at the deadline. Take the under on the point total, but stick around, there will be a lot of hype around San Jose next season.
