On a weekend full of anticipated matchups, perhaps none are more intriguing #4 seed Michigan State taking on top seeded Virginia on Friday in the Sweet 16. The Cavaliers will surely have a chip on their shoulder as MSU is almost everybody's (including President Obama) pick to win the 2014 NCAA Title.

The Spartans (28-8) broke bettor's hearts in their opening round game against Delaware by committing a late foul that allowed the Fightin' Blue Hens to push at 93-78. Adreian Payne was an absolute beast in the first round matchup, notching 41 points and pulling down 8 rebounds. MSU dominated by shooting over 50% from the floor and beyond the arc and shooting 23-25 from the line. The 2nd round matchup against Harvard was another win for the Spartans but a loss for the bettors as Michigan State won only 80-73 as 8.5 point favorites. Branden Dawson's 26 points showed that the Spartans are much more than just Payne.

Everybody expected Virginia (30-6) to reach the Sweet 16 as the top seed in the East. As 19.5 point favorites the Cavaliers opened up the tournament with a 70-59 win over Coastal Carolina. Virginia then punched their ticket to Madison Square Garden with an 18 point dismantling of Memphis 78-60 while being favored by only 7. Offensive balance has been the key to Virginia's hot starts with 4 players reaching double figures in round one followed by 5 in round two.

UVA is one point underdogs in a game that promises to see physical play by both sides. The teams totals have both gone over so far in the tourney and the line of 127 will probably see a lot of heavy cash as well.
