2025 PGA Picks: World Wide Technology Championship Odds and Expert Betting Predictions

After a week off for the Halloween holiday, the PGA Tour magically reappears south of the border in Old Mexico for the World Wide Technology or WWT Championship, as it is known. This is the third time El Cardonal at Diamante has hosted this tournament.
We are, of course, still in the FedEx Cup Fall or the Fall Swing, as they used to call it. Most of the golfers playing over the next month are those who need high placings or a win to secure their spot on the Tour in the future.
There's an intriguing mix of veterans like Matt Kuchar, who still can surprise fans and bettors on any given weekend, as well as promising youth like Texas Longhorn Pierceson Coody. The latter is coming off a tie for 3rd less than two weeks ago at the Black Desert Championship in Southern Utah.
The winner of that event by four strokes, Leesburg, Virginia's Michael Brennan, is just 23 and in the field this week at the WWT Championship at 30-1 betting odds. Steer clear of a bet on him. He's a young guy, coming off his first-ever Tour victory in just his third PGA event ever.
Watch out for this kid in the near future, though.
South African Garrick Higgo and the Philippines' Rico Hoey are the hottest golfers on the betting board heading into this weekend. The former has finished 7th, 4th, and 2nd in his previous three PGA Tour starts, dating back to early September.
Hoey, a native of Manila and USC graduate, has finished 9th, 4th, and 2nd in his previous 4 starts on Tour.
Let's take a look at the betting odds to win the WWT Championship, analyze the course, and make some picks to win this week's FedEx Cup Fall event.

Course Characteristics - El Cardonal at Diamante
Vamos a Cabo San Lucas for the WWT Championship. This course, designed by the great Tiger Woods, is a coastal design with several sand bunkers to deal with, but no rough. Yes, you read that correctly. There is no rough to deal with.
This course isn't much different from other coastal links, as it gets much more difficult when the wind picks up. That's about all you have to deal with here, though.
El Cardonal at Diamante ranked 56th out of 58 PGA Tour courses in terms of difficulty in 2023. Last year, though, it ranked 37th of 51, which is slightly better. I wouldn't expect too much difficulty, though.
Scores could creep up into the 30s, as we've seen (-28) win it in the past. The weather forecast looks relatively calm, but these breezes can shift in an instant.
WWT Championship Winner Betting Picks
Max Greyserman: +1900
The 30-year-old Duke grad is still looking for his first PGA Tour victory. He came so close three weeks ago at the Baycurrent Classic when he finished runner-up by just one stroke to one of the world's best in Xander Schauffele.
Greyserman, believe it or not, is ranked inside the top 30 in the world. Only the two men at the top of the betting board, J.J. Spaun and Ben Griffin, rank higher.
He's only played this tournament once, but Greyserman finished 4th last year.
Garrick Higgo: +2200
Higgo is coming in hot. Looking more like a 15-year-old surfer than a PGA Tour pro, the babyface is playing the best golf of his career right now. I don’t see how you can pass on him at this price.
He may be the best bet on the board, given his favorable course history as well.
Pierceson Coody: +3500
I guess it's a cool way to spell "Pierceson," but it had me adding a syllable for a moment, and I was surprised to see he was American, and a Texan at that. As I dove deeper into Coody, I found that 2025 was his best year.
This Fall, in particular, he's been on a tear, with a 14th and, most recently, two 3rd-place finishes. The Texan can hit the ball very far, and with no rough and minimal wind, we could see Coody take this one home.
