2026 PGA Picks: Rocket Classic and Expert Betting Predictions

Last week’s 3M Open was an exciting one that came down to the final few holes, but it was Jackson Koivun who held off Scottie Scheffler and the field to earn his first-ever PGA Tour win with a final score of -25.
This week, the PGA Tour will head to Detroit, Michigan to take on the Rocket Classic. The field will include many of the top players in the world but will most notably be missing Scottie Scheffler and Rory McIlroy.
The tournament is set to begin on Thursday, July 30th and will conclude on Sunday, August 2nd. As usual, my article will preview this tournament by giving you a brief overview of the course and the outright betting odds. Further, I will include my best bet to win the tournament and my two favorite ‘Top X Finish’ props.

Best Bets
Wyndham Clark to Win the Rocket Classic (+1850)
My best bet to win the Rocket Classic will be Wyndham Clark. He has already had an excellent season and is 4th in the FedEx Cup standings. Clark has also won twice this season (The CJ Cup Byron Nelson, and The US Open).
Further, both of his wins have come in the last seven starts, where he also finished inside the Top 20 six times and inside the Top 5 twice.
On the season, Clark ranks 8th in Strokes Gained: Total, 17th in Strokes Gained: Approach to Green, 21st in Strokes Gained: Putting, 1st in Putting Average, 5th in Putts Per Round, 3rd in One-Putt %, 6th in Scoring Average, and 4th in Birdie Average.
Clark has also had previous success at the Rocket Classic, finishing T17 in 2019 and T8 in 2022. He did miss the cut at the Rocket Classic in 2025, but given how consistent he has been this season, backing Wyndham Clark to win the Rocket Classic will be my best bet.
Chris Gotterup to Finish Top 20 (Including Ties) (-114)
My favorite ‘Top Finish X” prop for the Rocket Classic will look for Chris Gotterup to finish inside the Top 20. Gotterup is having a career season, as he currently ranks 5th in the FedEx Cup standings. He has made 18 of 19 cuts and has already won three times on the PGA Tour this season (Sony Open in Hawaii, WM Phoenix Open, and John Deere Classic). Including his three wins, Gotterup has finished inside the top 20 in 10 starts, which includes his last three events in a row.
This season, Gotterup ranks 9th in Strokes Gained: Total, 9th in Strokes Gained: Off the Tee, 26th in Strokes Gained: Putting, 6th in Driving Distance, 10th in Scoring Average, 21st in Par 4 Scoring, and 21st in Birdie Average.
Because Gotterup has consistently been able to finish near the top of the leaderboard, backing Chris Gotterup to Finish Inside the Top 20 will be my play.
Jackson Koivun to Finish Top 20 (Including Ties) (+108)
My second favorite ‘Top X Finish’ prop will look for Jackson Koivun to finish inside the Top 20. Koivun has admittingly played in a limited number of PGA Tour events this season, but has recently been improving.
As mentioned in the intro, Koivun is coming off his first-ever PGA Tour win this past week at the 3M Open. The fact that he had to fend off Scottie Scheffler in the final round on Sunday tells us that his game is clicking right now.
In addition to his win this past week, Koivun also finished T10 at his previous event, the ISCO Championship, a few weeks prior. He has now finished inside the Top 20 in two of his four PGA Tour events this season.
Given that Koivun has been improving, backing Jackson Koivun to Finish Inside the Top 20 will be my play.
