The first state to offer legal sports betting in the US remains one of the stronger markets in 2022. Nevada gaming officials noted that the overall sports betting handle is up 28.1% verse 2021 through the first four months of the year. April’s trends did cool a bit with a lull in the sports betting calendar. Coming off a strong March fueled by college basketball, the state’s total sports betting handle slipped to $582.5 million.

On the most basic level, favorites won 62.5% of the time in a straight-up matchup. However, underdogs carved out a 52.7% edge against the spread. The home team won 51.8% of the time straight-up, but they only covered in 48% of those games.
