Tuesday evening, Tyler Chatwood gets the ball for the Colorado Rockies as they take on Mike Bolsinger and the Arizona Diamondbacks. It will be the 4th start for Chatwood and the 3rd for Bolsinger. 

Tyler Chatwood pitched to a no decision in his last start after going 6 innings and giving up 5 runs on 7 hits (including 3 homers) with 4 walks and 5 strikeouts.  So far, Chatwood is 1 – 0 with an ERA of 4.26.  Last season, Chatwood was 8 – 5 with an ERA of 3.15 in 20 starts.

In 2013, Chatwood didn’t get the decision in his only start against Arizona.  In just 4.2 innings of work, Chatwood gave up 2 runs on 7 hits with a strikeout and 6 walks (the most that he gave up against any team).  Arizona’s Martin Prado is 3 of 7 with an RBI against Chatwood. 

Mike Bolsinger is doing as well as can be expected for a pitcher just in his 1st season in the big leagues.  Bolsinger is 1 – 1 with an ERA of 5.27 in 2 starts and a relief appearance.  His last start resulted in his 1st win after a 6.2 inning effort where he allowed a run on 4 hits with 2 walks and 7 strikeouts. 

In still his first major league season, Bolsinger is facing many teams for the first time.  With help from the rest of the pitching staff and the scouting report, he should be able to find a way to handle the Colorado lineup.
