On Tuesday night, Bruce Chen will be going for his second win of the year when the Kansas City Royals take on 29-year-old rookie Scott Carroll and the Chicago White Sox.

Veteran Bruce Chen pitched 5.1 innings against the Detroit Tigers last Sunday and ended up with a no decision. He gave up just two runs on eight hits in that start and walked no one while striking out two. On the year, Chen is 1-2 through seven starts with a 6.46 ERA and he has given up a whopping 41 hits in 30.2 innings on the mound.

Paul Konerko has faced Chen more than any of the other White Sox, but he is just 12-for-52 against him with two doubles, five home runs and nine RBI. Dayan Viciedo is 11-for-32 against him with three home runs and seven RBI.

Scott Carroll won his second consecutive start his last time on the mound when he beat the Cleveland Indians on the road. He pitched five scoreless innings in that outing and gave up just two hits while striking out three batters and walking just one. He is now 4-5 on the season with a 4.19 ERA, but he has only been able to strike out 34 batters in 68.2 innings.

None of the Royals have been able to hit a home run off of Carroll yet, but designated hitter Billy Butler has four hits in his five at-bats against him with two RBI.
