The New York Mets will be sending Zack Wheeler to the mound on Thursday to face Juan Nicasio and the Colorado Rockies.

Zack Wheeler pitched well in his start against the Miami Marlins last Friday night, but he ended up with his third straight no decision. He was able to go six innings in that game and gave up one run on just four hits while striking out a season-high 10 batters and walking three. He now has a 3.99 ERA on the season, but his 2.98 FIP suggests that he's been a bit unlucky.

Drew Stubbs is the only Rockies' hitter who has faced Wheeler, and he has one single in two at-bats against him. The rest of his team should expect to see a lot of Wheeler's 94-96 mph fastball throughout the game.

Juan Nicasio is coming off of his first loss of the season, which he got last Saturday when he was defeated by the Los Angeles Dodgers. Nicasio went just 4.1 innings in that start and gave up five earned runs on eight hits while striking out four and walking two. His ERA rose to 5.27 through 27.1 innings and he has given up 10.9 hits per nine innings.

No one on the Mets has faced Nicasio more than four times, but one guy who knows he can hit the 27-year-old right-hander is third baseman David Wright. Wright has gone up against Nicasio just three times, but both of his hits were home runs.
