New York Mets young righty Zack Wheeler will get the start on Thursday night and will face Miami Marlins top prospect Andrew Heaney in his first Major League outing.

24-year-old Zack Wheeler gave up four runs in three innings against the San Diego Padres over the weekend and came away with his seventh loss of the year. He gave up six hits in that outing and struck out four while walking three. Wheeler has a 2-7 record so far this year, but he has only allowed five home runs in 78 innings of work.

Miami slugger Giancarlo Stanton hasn't been able to figure Wheeler out yet, going just 1-for-7 against him with two walks and a strikeout. Casey McGehee is 2-for-4 against him with two walks. The Marlins are a combined 8-for-46 against Wheeler in 46 at-bats with 15 strikeouts.

Young left-hander Andrew Heaney, who was Baseball America's No. 30 prospect to start the season, will be coming into Thursday's game as one of the best pitchers in the minors. In 13 appearances (12 starts) in Double-A and Triple-A for the Marlins, Heaney had a 7-2 record with a 2.47 ERA. In his 76.2 innings on the mound this year, he has been able to strike out 79 batters while only walking 15. He also only gave up a total of three home runs in those games.
