San Diego pitcher Robbie Erlin's (1-3) ERA was the victim of a taxed out bullpen in his last outing as the pitcher was forced to suffer on the mound, allowing 8 runs on 13 hits in 5.2 innings against the Nationals. It was the pitcher's third straight poor start and righting the ship won't be easy against the consistent Tim Hudson (3-1) and the Giants.

Hudson's only loss on the season came on April 19th against these same Padres even though Hudson allowed only 2 runs in 7 innings. The Giants offense belted out only 4 hits in that 1-2 loss.
