Edmonton Eskimos Stats
Though they haven't looked so hot recently, on the season Edmonton has been one of the most consistent teams in the CFL. They have scored 285 points already, they're the top passing team in the league, and their defense has the most sacks with 24. They've also done a great job of taking care of the ball on offense, giving up just 19 turnovers through 10 games, which is the best mark in the league.
Eskimos quarterback Mike Reilly, who has already been names Top Performer of the Week twice, has thrown for 3,296 yards with 22 touchdowns and nine picks for a fantastic 107.6 efficiency rating. Reilly has also been key for the Eskimos' ground game by rushing for 260 yards and a league-best eight rushing scores. Wide receiver D'haquille Williams has been the top wideouts in the league, catching 51 passes for 947 yards and seven scores. Fellow receiver Derel Walker has been just as good, picking up 51 catches for 875 yards and he leads the CFL with eight touchdown grabs.
Week in and week out, Edmonton linebacker J.C. Sherritt has played well, and he now has 53 tackles, two sacks, and two interceptions. Defensive lineman Kwaku Boateng has been a great pass rusher for the team by coming up with five sacks to go along with his 11 tackles. Fourth-year defensive back Forrest Hightower has just nine tackles so far this season, but he is tied for the team lead in interceptions with two.
Calgary Stampeders Stats
By now everyone knows about the Stampeders' very tough defense. They have held teams to just 16.9 points per game, which easily makes them the best defensive unit in the league. The offense has been pretty good too, ranking near the top of the league in scoring, passing yards, passing touchdowns, and possession time.
Quarterback Bo Levi Mitchell has done a great job leading Calgary's offense this season, throwing for 2,614 yards with 20 touchdowns while only throwing five picks. Wide receiver Kamar Jorden has also had a great start to the season, catching 52 passes for a very impressive 895 yards with six scores. The team's top running threat has been Don Jackson, who now has 488 yards and two touchdowns and he has averaged 6.3 yards per carry.
Calgary linebacker Jameer Thurman has had a very good second season by picking up 53 total tackles, one sack, one interceptions, and one fumble recovery. Defensive lineman Micah Johnson has arguably been the best defensive player on the team, though, by taking down the quarterback five times, forcing three fumbles, and also coming away with one interception.
