Saskatchewan has depended heavily on its rushing attack this season, ranking third in the league with 1,314 yards on the ground. They have the third fewest amount of passing yards this year, but they have still been able to throw 14 touchdown passes. On the defensive side of the ball, the Roughriders are currently fifth in points allows and they have done a great job of getting to opposing quarterbacks, coming up with 29 team sacks.
Roughriders quarterback Zach Collaros has struggled for the majority of this season, completing just 59.7 percent of his passes and throwing seven interceptions while only throwing six touchdown passes. Running back Tre Mason has averaged 5.4 yards per carry and has 583 rushing yards, but he has yet to get into the end zone. Wide receiver Naaman Roosevelt has been the team's top scorer with four touchdowns and he has caught 43 passes for 465 yards.
Third-year linebacker Samuel Eguavoen has had his best year for the Roughriders so far, picking up 61 total tackles, three sacks, two forced fumbles, and one interception. Eguavoen has been good, but defensive end Charleston Hughes has been great, picking up a league best 13 sacks to go along with three forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries.
Toronto Argonauts Stats
Toronto has struggled on both sides of the ball for the majority of the season so far. They are second-to-last in scoring with just 19.7 points per game while their defense has given up over 28 points per game. Where they've struggled the most is in their rushing attack, gaining a league-worst 942 yards on the ground so far. They are last in the league in sacks and interceptions, though they are second in the CFL in forced fumbles with 11.
Second-year quarterback Mcleod Bethel-Thompson has done pretty well leading the Argonauts offense this year, throwing for 1,316 yards with eight touchdowns and just three interceptions. Running backs James Wilder is near the top of the league in rushing yards with 617, but he has only been able to score three times on the ground. Toronto's top receiver has been S.J. Green, who has caught 51 passes for 610 yards and three scores.
Defensive lineman Cleyton Laing has been one of Toronto's top defensive performers this year, picking 28 total tackles and a team-high four sacks. Defensive back Alden Darby has also played quite well for the Argonauts as he is second on the team in tackles with 41 total tackles and he is tied for the team lead in interceptions right now with two.
