The Blue Bombers continue to have the best offensive unit in the league while also playing very well on the defensive side of the ball. On offense they rank first in scoring with 30.4 points per game and they also have the top rushing attack with 1,788 total yards on the ground. Their defense is third-best in points allowed at 23.8 points per game, they are fourth in sacks with 33, and they lead the CFL in interceptions with 17.
Blue Bombers three-time All-Star running back Andrew Harris has been one of the top running backs in the league again this year by rushing for 1,101 yards with eight touchdowns while also scoring three more times through the air. Quarterback Matt Nichols has completed 63.3 percent of his passes so far this season for 2,368 yards and 12 touchdowns, though he has also been picked off 13 times. The team's top receiver has been Darvin Adams, who has caught 46 passes for 758 yards and seven touchdowns.
Winnipeg linebacker Adam Bighill is currently third in the league in tackles with 84 and he has also been able to come up with one sack and two interceptions. Defensive back Kevin Fogg has also been very good for the Blue Bombers' defense by coming up with a team-high four interceptions and also forcing two fumbles. Ottawa running back William Powell has had a great year so far, leading the CFL in rushing with 1,141 yards and also scoring six times on the ground. Redblacks kicker Lewis Ward, who was named CFL Top Performers of the Week for Week 15, has been able to make 40 of his 41 kicks this season and he is also averaging 48.2 yards per punt. Star wide receiver Brad Sinopoli has been able to catch 85 of the 115 passes thrown his way for 1,069 yards and four touchdowns.
Defensive lineman A.C. Leonard has been one of the Redblacks top defensive standouts by coming away with 37 total tackles and five sacks. Third-year defensive back Jonathan Rose has 32 total tackles and he leads the team in interceptions with five.
