Tuesday morning, the Murray State Racers will start their day with a matchup against the Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders. Murray State comes in 0 -1 while Middle Tennessee brings a 1 -0 record.

The Murray State Racers opened the season with a 77 - 74 loss to the Houston Cougars last Friday night. The Racers came out strong in the 1^st half and took a 42 -38 lead into the half. But the Racers seemed to run out of gas in the 2^nd half as the Cougars closed the gap and eventually overtook Murray State. This was even as the Cougars committed 17 turnovers. Murray State just failed to take advantage of the sloppy ball handling by Houston. The Racers were led by Cameron Payne and his 21 points while Jeffrey Moss contributed 15 in the losing effort.

The Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders opened their season at home last Friday night against the Ohio Valley Fighting Scots. But the Fighting Scots didn't live up to their name as they were pushed around in the 77 - 60 Middle Tennessee win. The Division II Fighting Scots were clearly overmatched and the Blue Raiders raced to an early lead. Ohio Valley closed the gap to 3 at the half but they couldn't stop Middle Tennessee in the 2^nd half. The Blue Raiders took advantage of the 36 Ohio Valley fouls to add 25 points to their stats. Reggie Upshaw Jr. helped spur the victory with his 17 points to lead Middle Tennessee.
