The Detroit Red Wings will be going on the road on Tuesday to take on the Ottawa Senators. Both teams picked up two wins against each other during the 2013-14 season.
The Red Wings gave up a late third-period goal to the Buffalo Sabres on Sunday night and ended up losing 3-2 in the shootout. Detroit was 0-for-4 on the power play and they scored just two goals on 38 shots.
Through 11 games, the Red Wings have the best penalty kill in the NHL. Veteran left wing Henrik Zetterberg has three goals and he leads Detroit with 14 points and a plus/minus of +5. Goaltender Jimmy Howard has made nine starts this season and is 5-1-3 with a solid 1.95 GAA and a .927 save percentage.
On Saturday, the Senators lost their second game in a row when they were defeated 4-2 by the Boston Bruins on the road. Ottawa goalie Robin Lehner had an off game in that loss and gave up four goals on just 30 shots faced.
The Senators have scored 2.7 goals per game this season and they are giving up 2.5 goals per game to their opponents. Left wing Clarke MacArthur has a team-leading five goals this year and he has assisted on three others. Goalie Craig Anderson has made five starts for Ottawa and is 2-2-1 with one shutout and a 2.38 GAA.
