The San Jose Sharks were able to score seven consecutive goals to beat the Los Angeles Kings 7-2 on Sunday and take a 3-0 series lead.
The Kings got off to a great start when Jake Muzzin was able to score just two minutes into the first period with his second goal of the series. Trevor Lewis scored his second of the series and put Los Angeles up by two midway through the period. That's all the Kings would get, though, as the Sharks took over the game from there on out.
Mike Brown got San Jose their first goal at the 4:25 mark of the second period, which was followed by Raffi Torres' second goal of the series five minutes later. Defenseman Justin Braun put the Sharks on top 3-2 with five minutes left in the period.
San Jose scored all four of their third period goals in a nine-minute span, with Patrick Marleau and Joe Pavelski getting the scoring started in the first four minutes of the period. After Logan Couture put the Sharks up 6-2, Joe Thornton finished off the goal scoring with a power-play tally midway through the period.
Pavelski had a goal and two assists for San Jose, while Dan Boyle, Andrew Desjardins and Matt Nieto each had two assists in the win. Goalie Antti Niemi had 24 saves for San Jose.
