The St. Louis Blues will play their fourth game of the year on Saturday when they face the Arizona Coyotes, who have yet to give up a power play goal. The Blues were able to beat the Coyotes in two of their three matchups last season.
The Blues couldn't find a way to put the puck past Los Angeles Kings goalie Jonathan Quick on Thursday and ended up losing 1-0 in the shootout. They were 0-for-4 on the power play in that game and goalless despite getting 43 shots on Quick's goal.
The Blues have only been able to score two goals per game so far this season, but their defense has only given up 1.3 goals per game. Center Paul Stastny has one goal and is first on the team with four points. Goalie Brian Elliott is 1-1-1 this year with a solid .940 save percentage.
The Coyotes were able to score at least two goals in each period of their game against the Edmonton Oilers on Wednesday and came away with a 7-4 home win. Phoenix's power play stayed perfect on the season by stopping both of Edmonton's chances with the extra man
Coyotes left wing Mikkel Boedker now has five goals and one assist on the season. Defenseman Keith Yandle has a team-leading four assists and a plus-1 through three games. Goalie Mike Smith is 1-1-0 with a 5.00 GAA, while backup Devan Dubnyk is 1-0-0 with a 1.85 GAA.
