Poland will take on Senegal at Spartak Stadium in a Group H matchup on Tuesday, June 19, 2018. The opening line for this World Cup matchup has Poland at +118 and Senegal at +240. The total opened at 2. In what should be a very entertaining and close opening fixture, Poland's high-scoring squad will take on the very pacey Senegal side. Both teams have multiple well-known players who are known for carrying their teams at times.

Poland

After missing the 2010 and 2014 World Cups, Poland is back and they're coming with a strong squad. They are known for being much better on the offensive end than on defense, scoring a ton of goals but also letting in more than any of the other qualifying group winners. It will be interesting to see if they go with a three-defender setup to try to get a little more help for their defense at the World Cup. FIFA seems to like Poland as they put them in 10th in their latest rankings. Coach Adam Nawa?ka loves to tinker with his formations to gives his sides a chance, which can make his teams unpredictable while also sometimes messing chemistry.

Robert Lewandowski

Let's just say that there's very little chance that Poland would be at the World Cup without the high-scoring Bayern Munich product. Lewandowski has 52 goals in 93 games for his national side and he has been his nation's player of the year seven times.

Piotr Zielinski

When he's on his game, Zielinski is one of Napoli and Poland's top creative players. He's comfortable going forward and he is a very accurate passer of the ball.

Senegal

Playing in just their second World Cup, Senegal will be looking to show that they have put it all together and can surprise their opponents. They have more speed than most of the other competition this year and they have players who have shown they can compete at the highest levels. They will usually play a 4-4-3 up-tempo style, but they have shown in recent months that they aren't shy about playing a 4-4-2 when needed. Making it through to the next round will be tough, though, as they will have to compete with this Poland side as well as a very hungry Columbian team. Senegal hasn't moved around the FIFA rankings much over the last year and currently sits in 28th place. Manager Aliou Cisse has been with the team since 2015 and was actually a player when the country last made it to this stage of the World Cup.

Sadio Mane

Let's just say that Senegal's best chance of having success this year comes down to Mane's play. The Liverpool winger can outrun just about anyone, he can pick out a pass, and he is not afraid to go all the way to the goal himself. If he's at full health, expect Mane to cause problems for every other team in Group H.

Kalidou Koulibaly

Kalidou Koulibaly was the type of player Senegal needed to give the squad a bit more balance. The big defender is athletic, has great instincts in defense, and he can even pick out a pass. If Senegal is to make it through this group, it will come down to Koulibaly's performances just as much as Mane's.
