Los Angeles Kings Odds to Win the Stanley Cup Championship

Two seasons ago the Los Angeles Kings won the Stanley Cup. Last year they struggled to follow it up — at least until the playoffs when they won their first two rounds. After coach Darryl Sutter took the Calgary Flames to within one win of the Cup, the team went on a slow decline as his message grew old. Will the same thing happen to him here? The oddsmakers at Bovada don’t think so — at 12/1 the Kings are the fourth choice to win the Stanley Cup. The biggest change the team made is finally trading away Jonathan Bernier and committing fully to Jonathan Quick as their goaltender. He’s likely the best goalie in the league, so it’s hardly a risky move, and grabbing some value for Bernier made sense. Beyond that, the two best moves were locking up Dustin Brown for eight years and letting Rob Scuderi go after the Penguins showed they were willing to overpay for him.
