Saskatchewan Roughriders Stats
Saskatchewan has the exact same amount of points scored as they have points allowed, which is why they find themselves right in the middle of the standings and around the middle of the league in most statistical categories. They are last in the league in passing yards, but they are near the top of the league in both possession time and rushing yards. Their defense currently has the most sacks in the CFL with 24 and they are second with 10 forced fumbles.
Saskatchewan has gone back to using quarterback Zach Collaros full-time as he has thrown for 1,305 yards with five touchdown passes. Veteran running back Marcus Thigpen has been doing the most with his limited touches, averaging 7.62 yards per carry and scoring a team-best three touchdowns. Fourth-year receiver Naaman Roosevelt has caught 38 passes through 10 games for 404 yards and three touchdowns.
Roughriders linebacker Samuel Eguavoen has been one of the top defensive stars in the league so far this season, picking up 52 tackles, two sacks, two forced fumbles and one defensive touchdown. Eguavoen has been great, but lineman Charleston Hughes has been even better by taking down opposing quarterbacks a league-high 13 times while also coming up with 27 tackles. Defensive back Tobi Antigha is tied for the team lead in interceptions with two and he has also recovered three fumbles.
Winnipeg Blue Bombers Stats
The Blue Bombers have had by far the best offense in the league this season, but their below-average defense has allowed opponents to keep up with them. Their offense has scored 332 points and is also first in rushing yards and third in passing touchdowns. Their defense, on the other hand, is third-from-bottom in points allowed and they're in the bottom-half of the league in both forced fumbles and pass knockdowns.
Winnipeg quarterback Matt Nichols hasn't been extremely consistent this year, but he is third in the league with 1,768 passing yards and he's thrown 11 touchdown passes. Wide receiver Darvin Adams is having another solid season this year, catching 38 passes and he's already matched his career high in touchdown catches with seven.
On the defensive side of the ball, second-year linebacker Jovan Santos-Knox has arguably been the Blue Bombers' best player through 11 games this season, picking up 50 tackles and leading the team in sacks with four. The team's top tackler has been linebacker Adam Bighill, who has brought down 67 total opponents while also picking up two interceptions, one sack, and one forced fumble.
