Toronto Argonauts Stats

Toronto has not had a good season so far this year and it shows in their team stats. They are last or second-to-last in many categories, including total points, passing yards, rushing yards, possession time, total points allowed, and sacks. They have been one of the most aggressive defensive in the league, though, forcing nine fumbles and knocking down 26 passes, both good for second-best in the CFL.

Considering how much their offense has struggled, it's pretty surprising that Argonauts quarterback McLeod Bethel-Thompson has played so well, throwing for 858 yards and six touchdowns with just one interception. Wide receiver Armanti Edwards has had a pretty solid year so far, catching 27 passes for 424 yards and two scores. Second-year running back James Wilder Jr. has averaged 4.5 yards per carry through nine games and he has scored three touchdowns.

Toronto's defensive has been led by linebacker Marcus Ball, who has a team-high 40 total tackles to go along with his one forced fumble and one interception. Veteran defensive back has played well in his time split between the Argonauts and Montreal Alouettes, picking up two interceptions and an impressive 40 tackles. The team's sack leader is defensive lineman Cleyton Laing, who has four quarterback takedowns and 26 tackles.

Hamilton has been pretty solid across the board this season. They are fifth in the league in scoring with 229 points, second in points allowed by only giving up 200 points, and they are currently ranked second in the league in passing yards. They have played a more conservative defensive style this season, which is why they are last in interceptions with six and second from bottom in sacks with just 15.

As everyone expected, Hamilton's top player has been quarterback Jeremiah Masoli, who has completed 65.7 percent of his passes for 2,884 yard and 10 touchdowns. Masoli is also the team's leader in rushing yards with 314, though running back Alex Green leads the team in rushing scores with five. Masoli's favorites target has been Brandon Banks, who has caught 54 passes this year for 745 yards and three touchdown receptions.

On the defensive side of the ball, the Tiger-Cats have gotten great contributions from linebacker Simoni Lawrence, who has been able to pick up a team-high 47 tackles and three sacks. Defensive back Jumal Rolle has a team-best two interceptions through nine games and he has also been able to come away with 21 total tackles. Linebacker Cariel Brooks has also been solid by forcing three fumbles, knocking down two passes and also tackling 27 opposing players.
