Winnipeg Blue Bombers Stats
Winnipeg has been excellent on the offensive side of the ball this season, leading the league in points thanks to its top-ranked rushing attack. They have rushed for 1,713 yards as a team and they have scored a league-leading 17 rushing touchdowns. On defense, the Blue Bombers have given up just 25.4 points per game and they are near the top of the league in interceptions with 14. They're also fourth in the league in sacks with 29.
Winnipeg best offensive weapon has been veteran running back Andrew Harris, who now has 1,028 yards on the ground and seven touchdowns. Quarterback Matt Nichols has had an up and down season so far for the Blue Bombers, throwing for 2,189 yards with 12 touchdowns and 12 interceptions. Their best wide receiver has been Darvin Adams, who has caught 44 passes on the year for 727 yards and seven scores. Winnipeg's second-year kicker Ty Long has also had a solid year so far, nailing 30 of his 34 field goal attempts and averaging 50.2 yards per punt.
On the defensive side of the ball, the Blue Bombers are once again being led by linebacker Adam Bighill, who has 75 total tackles on the season with one sack and two interceptions. The team's sack leader is defensive lineman Craig Roh, who has been able to take the quarterback down six times. Defensive backs Marcus Sayles and Kevin Fogg are tied for the team lead in interceptions with three apiece.
Edmonton Eskimos Stats
Edmonton is also right there near the top of just about every major offensive category through 13 games this year. They are third in scoring, first in passing yards, second in passing touchdowns, second in rushing touchdowns, and they have committed the fewest turnovers in the league. They have struggled a bit on defense, though, as they are third from the bottom in pints allowed, but they are near the top of the league in sacks and interceptions.
As pretty much every CFL fan expected, the Eskimos have played well because of the performances of quarterback Mike Reilly, who has completed 67.1 percent of his passes for 4,219 yards, 27 touchdowns, and just 12 interceptions. They also happen to have the league's best wide receiver as D'haquille Williams has been able to catch 68 passes for 1,300 yards and 10 touchdowns.
Edmonton's top defensive threat has been linebacker J.C. Sherritt, who is near the top of the league with 71 tackles and he also has two interceptions and three sacks. Defensive back Forrest Hightower leads the team in interceptions with three.
