Winnipeg Blue Bombers Stats
Winnipeg has had the best offense for the majority of the season this year and their defense also finished right near the top of the league. They scored over 30 points per game, which was the best mark in the league, and that was thanks in large part to a rushing attack that had the most yards and touchdowns in the CFL. Their defense is one of the most aggressive in the league as they were able to finish second in sacks (45) and third in interceptions (20).
Winnipeg quarterback Matt Nichols, who picked up the CFL Top Performer of the Week in the last week of the regular season, was able to complete 64.8 percent of his passes during the regular season for 1,346 yards and 18 touchdowns. Running back Andrew Harris was solid all year, rushing for a league-best 1,390 yards and eight touchdowns while averaging 5.8 yards per carry.
Linebacker Adam Bighill has led the way for the Blue Bombers by picking up 106 tackles, two interceptions, four sacks, and four forced fumbles. Defensive back Kevin Fogg has also been very impressive by coming up with a team-high four interceptions as well as 46 tackles, three forced fumbles, and three fumble recoveries. Defensive lineman Craig Roh leads the team in sacks with eight on the year.
Saskatchewan Roughriders Stats
Saskatchewan finished the season with an offense that ranked in the bottom-half of the league, but their defense did a good job of keeping them in most games. They scored 25 points per game and were near the bottom the standings in passing yards and passing touchdowns, though their rushing attack has been one of the best. Their defense, though, ranks in the top three in fewest points allowed, sacks and interceptions.
Roughriders quarterback Zach Collaros has had his worst season yet this year, throwing for 2,999 yards with just nine touchdowns and 13 interceptions. The team's top wide receiver has been Jordan Williams-Lambert, who finished the regular season with 62 catches for 764 yards and four touchdowns. Running back Tre Mason averaged 5.1 yards per carry for 809 yards and three scores.
Saskatchewan defensive lineman Charleston Hughes, who has arguably been the best defensive player in the league this year, led the CFL in sacks with 15 while also forcing three fumbles and scoring one defensive touchdown. Linebacker Samuel Eguavoen has also had a solid year by picking up a team-best 91 total tackles as well as three sacks and one interception.
