On Saturday night, Kentucky Wildcats (2-0) will take on their first SEC opponent of the year when they visit the Florida Gators (1-0). The Gators were able to beat the Wildcats 24-7 in Kentucky last season.
Kentucky had another great defensive showing in their second game of the season when they defeated Ohio 20-3 at home. The Wildcats rushed for 232 yards in the game, while their defense held Ohio to just 223 total yards. Kentucky now has the sixth-ranked defensive unit in the country by giving up just 8.5 points per game.
Wildcats quarterback Patrick Towles has thrown for 547 yards with two touchdowns and no interceptions so far this season. Junior running back Braylon Heard only has two carries this year, but he has gained 116 yards on those carries with two touchdowns.
Florida did just about everything right in their first game of the year when they beat Eastern Michigan 65-0 at home. The Gators put up 655 total yards in that game and were able to hold Eastern Michigan to just 125 yards. Florida's defense forced five turnovers in the game while the offense never turned the ball over.
In that opening game, Gators wide receiver Demarcus Robinson has six receptions for 123 yards and one touchdown. Running back Kelvin Taylor had eight carries in the game for 68 yards and two scores.
