New York Rangers Odds to Win the Stanley Cup Championship

The offseason for the New York Rangers was barely recognizable. The team has long made a habit of spending obscene money on free agents who ultimately don’t deliver on their promise. The only real money they spent this year, though, was $28 million over six years to retain Ryan McDonagh — a strong investment. They even let Ryane Clowe go elsewhere. That restraint plus the swapping of John Tortorella for Alain Vigneault as coach gives this team a different feel. The oddsmakers aren’t impressed, though, the team sits at 20/1 to win the Stanley Cup, which puts them in the second tier of contenders. If the team can get back on track and play to the potential of their roster then that could be a real value for bettors. That’s a big if for this team, though, as they have proven time and again.
