2026 Colorado Rockies Predictions with Odds to Win World Series and Futures Picks

While the league watched the White Sox break unthinkable lowly records, the Colorado Rockies seemingly did their best last season to compete or surpass those record lows. With that, the Rockies have a new pitching coach to try and figure out the cheat code that is the air around Colorado. They also added strong veteran pitchers to have an extended tryout and showcase their potential to aid postseason potential teams. These moves will progress the rebuild as the Rockies try and find their way back to the playoffs.

Summary of Last Season
Last season was grossly abysmal for Colorado and their fans. They finished with a 43-119 record, with a -424-run differential. The 2024 White Sox finished with just 41 wins, but they had a -306-run differential. The Rockies allowed over 1,000 runs last season, constantly failing to themselves a chance to win games. They went 1-5 in extra inning games, while falling to 25-77 in nighttime games.
Their lineup was surprisingly not the weakest point of this team. They finished 29th in runs, 23rd in hits, 25th in homeruns, 29th in strikeouts, 30th in walks, 23rd in stolen bases, and 27th in OPS. Hunter Goodman was one of the few bright spots for Colorado this season. He led the team with a 3.7 WAR after posting 31 homeruns, recording 91 RBIs, and a .843 OPS. Mickey Moniak finished second on the team with 24 homeruns and 68 RBIs. Jordan Beck also had a nice season after clubbing 16 homeruns and stealing 19 bases, while Brenton Doyle hit 15 homeruns, and Ryan McMahon added 16. Even though he was traded, McMahon joined Goodman as the only Rockies hitters to record a WAR over 1.0.
Their pitching staff was arguably the worst in the history of the sport. They finished with a 5.97 ERA on the year, while also ranking last in quality starts, strikeouts, WHIP, homeruns, and 23rd in walks. Jimmy Herget led the team with a 3.0 WAR out of the bullpen. He recorded 83.1 innings pitched while finishing the season with a 2.48 ERA and allowing just six homeruns. Kyle Freeland was the best starter for the Rockies last season as he managed a 4.98 ERA, a 1.3 WAR, and 14 quality starts in 162.2 innings of work. Fellow starters Antonio Senzatela (6.65), German Marquez (6.70), and Chase Dollander (6.52) all finished with ERAs greater than 6.50.
Key Additions/Losses
At the end of the historically bad season, the Rockies were faced by some exiting players. Reliever Lucas Gilbreath, starter German Marquez, infielder Orlando Arcia, infielder Kyle Farmer, and second baseman Thairo Estrada al became free agents. They later non-tendered first baseman Michael Toglia.
As for the additions, they brought in veteran pitchers Brennan Bernardino, Parker Mushinski, John Brebbia, Keegan Thompson, Michael Lorenzon, Jose Quintana, and Tomoyuki Sugano. The team also brought in infielders Nicky Lopez and Chad Stevens, utility man Vimael Machin, outfielder Jake McCarthy, utility man Willi Castro, infielder Edouard Julien, and catcher Kyle McCann.
Prospect Outlook
Similarly to their division foe Arizona, the Colorado Rockies farm system is in a disappointing state considering how bad their MLB roster is. Look away Rockies fans, there is little to no help on the way. The Rockies currently have a farm system that ranks 28th in the MLB with just two players ranked inside the MLB’s Top 100 Prospects Rankings. Shortstop Ethan Holiday is their highest rated prospect at 19-years-old. He has more power upside than his brother Jackson Holiday, while his other tools are yet to develop. Behind Holiday on the rankings is fellow prospect Charlie Condon who ranks 70th. The 22-year-old infielder/outfielder is expected to reach the big-league level this season with a plus bat.
X-Factors
The Future- The Rockies might be the most disappointing franchise in the league, in one of the ugliest seasons any team could imagine being in. The rotation was awful and while they did add some veteran arms, they are only coming in to be dangled as trade chips in the summer in order to add some much-needed future capital. The big-league roster is lacking star power and will feature a lot of unproven players who are in and out of the lineup and bullpen. The front office has a lot of work to do, and they need to capitalize on the upcoming trade season, drafts, and free agent classes.

2026 Colorado Rockies Predictions
There is nothing to like regarding Colorado this season. They did not make any significant additions during the offseason to make anyone believe they are in for a 13-game improvement from last season. While there are still the White Sox and Marlins, this franchise is in the worst state of any of the other 30 big-league clubs. Take the under on the win total and make sure to fade the Rockies all season long.
