2026 Los Angeles Angels Predictions with Odds to Win World Series and Futures Picks

A lot has changed around the Los Angeles Angels camp since we last saw them on the field. Kurt Suzuki will begin his managerial career as the leading bench coach for the Angels, and he is faced with a number of questions to start the season. The biggest storyline to watch as we near the new season is whether or not Mike Trout can stay healthy. The star outfielder has had an injury plagued career, and the sport is better when he is on the field, so we will see if the move back to center field is met with more injury concerns. The rotation has a top three in place, but they can take a huge step forward if guys like Grayson Rodriguez and Alek Manoah can come over to Anaheim and reach their ceiling. Christian Moore may be ready to take over the everyday second base duties, but the biggest competition heading into Spring Training is who will anchor the bullpen and assume the closer role.

Summary of Last Season
Last season the Angels went 72-90, finishing 14th in the AL, and finishing the season with a -164-run differential. They were practically no threat on threat on the road, posting a lowly 33-48 record away from home. After finishing in the basement of the AL West, the Angels have now failed to reach the postseason since 2014.
While this team was far from complete, and had very little bright spots, their performance at the plate was arguably the worst part of this team. They finished last in the MLB with a .225 AVG, 23rd in OPS with a .695 mark, and 25th in runs scored (673). Perhaps the lone bright spot at the plate was their ability to send souvenirs to their fans. They finished fourth in the league in homeruns with 226. Jo Adell finally flashed his true potential last season. He led the team with 37 homeruns and tallied 98 RBIs. Zach Neto led the Angels with a 5.1 WAR thanks to a .793 OPS, 26 homeruns, 26 stolen bases, and 62 RBIs. Taylor Ward hit 36 homeruns and finished the season with a team best 103 RBIs, while also recording a 2.7 WAR. Trout managed to club 26 homeruns in 130 games, while adding 64 RBIs. They did miss production from the likes of Jorge Soler, Nolan Schanuel, and Logan O’Hoppe which could have propelled them out of the basement. Those three bats combined for a mere 0.6 WAR.
As for the pitching, they ranked 28th in ERA with a 4.89 mark, while also ranking 28th in WHIP (1.43), 25th in strikeouts (1,280), 30th in walks (620), and 29th in homeruns (223). Yusei Kikuchi led the team with a 3.3 WAR after posting 11 quality starts, a 3.99 ERA, and a team best 178.1 innings pitched. Jose Soriano burst onto the scene after recording 15 quality starts in 169 innings pitched, while managing a 2.3 WAR. Despite the horrid numbers, the Angels did have innings eaters with all five starters reaching at least 111 innings pitched last season. Kenley Jansen led the team with 29 saves, while posting a 2.59 ERA out of the bullpen, and his 2.4 WAR was the second best on the pitching staff.
Key Additions/Losses
At the seasons end, the Angels saw Carter Kieboom, Connor Brogdon, Carson Fulmer, Luis Rengifo, Andrew Chafin, Jose Urena, Kyle Hendricks, Tyler Anderson, Luis Garcia, and Kenley Jansen become free agents. They followed up all those exits by sending their best bat from last season to Baltimore, as Ward was flipped for pitching help. They also sent reliever Brock Burke to Cincinnati in a three-team deal.
While there were a lot of exits, the Angels did a good job keeping their core together, while also adding more talent. They added Rodriguez in the Ward deal, while further boosting their pitching staff with Huascar Ynoa, Angel Perdomo, Manoah, Jordan Romano, Drew Pomeranz, Kirby Yates, Nick Sandlin, Kaleb Ort, and Brent Suter. They also boosted their position player depth by adding Vaughn Grissom, Adam Frazier, Jeimer Candelario, Jose Siri, Trey Mancini, Josh Lowe, and Nick Madrigal.
Prospect Outlook
Despite being far off from playoff contention, the Angels farm system is incredibly weak. They rank just 27th in the MLB with their current prospect pool. Their lone Top 100 prospect is right-handed pitcher Tyler Bremner (81st). Bremner features a plus fastball with a solid changeup that scares opposing hitters, missing 48% of bats last season.
X-Factors
The Front Office- The front office did a wonderful job adding veterans on fliers this offseason. The bulk of those players need to be flipped and packaged for future capital as this team continues to rebuild. They need to acquire pitching prospects to add upside to the future of this rotation. Adding Rodriguez and Manoah are incredible moves that are flying under the radar. Both pitchers have flashed ace material before, and if they can do it again, this rotation looks a lot different. It also has to consider the future of Trout. While he has been their best player for over a decade, he is still worth quite a haul that could set this team up for future success. It may be worth considering moving their star to a contender and letting them overpay and rebuild the weakened farm system. There are a lot of key decisions ahead that could alter the direction of the franchise.

2026 Los Angeles Angels Predictions:
The prediction here is for the Angels to hit the over on the win total. With the upside guys in Rodriguez and Manoah joining the rotation, paired with the fact that O’Hoppe is due for a resurgence, the Angels will win 71 or more games again this season. As far as anything else for the Angels, Trout is an MVP talent, but he has not proved that he can stay on the field long enough to post an MVP worthy campaign, but he is worth a flier if he can somehow stay healthy. Not a lot to get excited about for the Angels this season.
